Two test soil-nails at The Strand in Dana Point!🏝️🏗️
About 55 linear feet of this retaining wall is showing signs of failure and we’ll be using soil nails to save it!

We needed to test embedment depths and installation torque values before getting started with this project in the next couple of weeks.

Our test-nails were a success!💪🏽🏖️

Yesterday we visited David and James at The Strand in Dana Point as they drove in two soils nails to test installation torque values and depth requirements. They hit depths of about 56’ with a 1500psi installation pressure which equates to about 7500 ft/lbs with this particular 12k drive head that we brought to attach to the CAT315 from @quinn.cat.

In the next couple of weeks we’ll start installing 60 of these triple-flighted soil nails from @getecp to stabilize the failing retaining wall before it can damage the beautiful properties that sit atop it!

This is all part of a much larger renovation project on the entire neighborhood by @nautilusgeneral!
