For the better 1/2 of this year with @ourppls @gloriaaa.ter & I was trusted to program wellbeing workshops for @akanji.studio targeted at beloveds (& advocates) impacted by a hidden illness, chronic pain, or sickle-cell anemia. We was able to actively curate wellbeing workshops varying from a writing workshop with @edwardadonteng to a sound bath session with @naylouholistics and an amazing ‘blends and blooms’ led by my fav @soul.play.ground

I learnt a whole lot about how to better advocate for those in my community who have sickle cell, something very important to me. There’s a plethora of workshops left before the year ends. I implore you all to check them out & use Sickle Cell Awareness Month as a starting point for education and engagement 💐

Happy July! It's also Fibroid Awareness Month. 🤍

For nearly 15 years, I've lived with fibroids and endometriosis, with the latter only being officially diagnosed two years ago. It's been a long and challenging journey, one that I'll share more about in time, but last November it ultimately led me to leaving my 25-year corporate career. But... it also led me to healing.

Through holistic therapies, I found ways to significantly reduce my stress, better manage my symptoms, and regain a sense of balance and wellbeing.

Swipe for some big news or continue reading in comments... 👀

I'm incredibly proud, and a little emotional, to announce that I have officially registered the charitable arm of my business, Naylou Holistics CIC (Community Interest Company) @naylouholisticscic and am turning my lived experience into a purpose.

The mission of Naylou Holistics CIC is to provide free and subsidised holistic therapies, including massage therapy, Reiki, and sound healing, for Women living with womb-related health conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, and PMOS (Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) previously called PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), along with providing free menstrual products to help ease the financial burden that often comes with managing these conditions.

Continued... 👉🏾

While these therapies are not cures, they can be powerful tools for managing chronic pain, reducing stress, supporting emotional wellbeing, and helping Women feel more like themselves again.

I'm currently seeking the first grant to get these much-needed services off the ground but donations are also welcomed. If you, your employer, or your company would like to support this mission, donations, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities would be hugely appreciated. Donation link is in the bios or send me a DM.

This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to share this journey with you. 🤍

A year working at @ourppls has been a year of learning, growing, & true heart work. One of my mentors turned family @freedom_balance introduced me to this idea of ‘heart work’ and in turn what being a heart worker looks like. I’ve been doing so much for so long but my role at @ourppls has given me the opportunity to hone in on my skills, learn new things, & still be committed to my core of being a heart worker.

From social media account management for Kinaraa CIC, working with @milkhoneybees, producing ‘Review & Reset’ at @blackgirlfest and @redbulluk studios, wellbeing support @recessland , every project has been rooted in the 🫀

Powers & love to the amazing team @gloriatergat @nayana.ab @bridgeteke who have taught me so much & the truest #girlboss @ayosartofgiving for having faith & hiring me because I really am a creative who cares
