December 11 changes the definition of hemp at the federal level.
The limit is 0.4 mg of total THC per finished-product container — not per serving.
That means many of the tested, labeled, age-restricted products adults legally purchase today would no longer qualify as hemp under federal law.
December 11 is the date unless Congress passes another law. Anything beyond that is speculation until it is signed.
Regulation should protect consumers and create clear standards. It should not erase the regulated shelf.

The future of hemp is at a crossroads. A sweeping federal ban could threaten farmers, small businesses, jobs, and access to the hemp products so many people rely on.
Protect consumers. Preserve agricultural opportunity. Support small businesses.
Regulate hemp. Don’t ban it.

Enjoying talking sensible hemp policy with Mary Lynn from team of Guilford district NC State Representative @priceyharrison

Excited that representatives across party lines are open minded to regulating versus banning the industry in the state. Combined with the federal ban extension and federal rescheduling, there’s hope for a future that includes safe access for NC residents.

This new redhead had quite the adventure in VA !! I was meant to get there early and offer my muscle services to @kellymriddle. Instead I had to pull over in a random town and get my tire patched! Luckily I found the only open shop around and begged for mercy!!

Thursday morning - the drive continued. Battled rain & fog through Blue Ridge Parkway, but finally made it!

I caught up with the regular partners & troublemakers! Met some new & amazing humans - we shared knowledge, meals, plans, strategies, laughs and rotations! 💚 I also learned that VA is already buzzing with the soul of this plant. They have a thirst and an excitement, as well as a profound respect for not only the business aspect, but the medicinal, scientific, communal and soulful uses!

Can’t wait to see all we accomplish!

We had the privilege of interviewing #northcarolina Senator Rob Lowe, Jr. on the history of legalization efforts in our state and his optimism for passing a medical program that will provide NC citizens access to plant medicine.

A big proponent of medical MJ reform, @senpaullowe believes it’s a better alternative to opioids, which have addictive properties that are plaguing the nation.

At NC3 Chamber, we’re continuing to follow developments in the state’s MJ policies, including @nc_governor Josh Stein’s newly appointed NC Advisory Council that is tasked with creating a regulatory framework by the end of 2026.

The mission of NC3 Chamber is to drive economic growth for our industry, develop the future workforce and to educate the community in an effort to break down the deep-rooted stigma and misinformation surrounding MJ in our state.
