VTRS has been working hard to achieve the top level of collegiate EMS agency preparedness in the country. This past weekend, all of our officers took an incident command class to take us closer to the next step! In the class, they learned the importance of multi-jurisdictional command systems and have gained a lot of team-based knowledge. Only a few more steps until we reach recognition of a Gold level EMS Ready Campus!

Day 1 of Collegiate EMS Week was a success. We partnered with our colleagues at the Sarver Heart Center to teach Chest Compression Only (CCO) CPR to students at the University of Arizona. Thank you to everybody that came to support us! #collegiateemsweek

Today we were able to kick off National Campus EMS Week with a CPR Course led by outgoing Chief Jesse Epstein and incoming Chief Justin Passman as well as an EMS themed bake sale run by Vice President Melanie Aftandilian (each item served with some Bleeding Control fun facts and skills tips)! Be on the lookout for more exciting events all week long! We also take time today to honor our country's veterans that have fought to protect us, our rights, and our values.

We have been so incredibly honored and excited to participate in the NCEMSF Massachusetts Regional Meetup. It was a great weekend of networking, learning, and training. Regional coordinator, Dave Afienko and National Coordinator Steve Lanieri were in attendance this weekend. MIT EMS is looking forward to next year’s meetup!
