On December 13, 2025, The Virginia State University Section of NCNW participated in a Jingle & Mingle Christmas Day of fun for all children event. It was a great experience to give back to the children, they got to take pictures with Santa, receive gifts, stocking designing, and more!

Our Miss Purple Arianna Ferguson had the chance to connect with President Cypriana McCray, Reston-Dulles section, Sister Bey from the Richmond Section and collegiate sisters from the Old Dominion University section.

We want to also thank the Chesterfield Metro Area Section of the National Council of Negro Women for hosting such an amazing event.

What an amazing way to spend Founder’s Weekend!

It was an honor to meet and greet several leaders of our very organization including former National Chair Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, current National Chair Dr. Lois A. Keith, and President and CEO Rev. Shavon Arline-Bradley at the NCNW Sunday Service in celebration of 90 years of service and sisterhood. We also had the pleasure of visiting our National Headquarters and viewing the historic statue of our founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune.

To top it all off, we were blessed to meet gospel singer and Virginia Union University, Professor Jonathan McReynolds.

Thank you Sis. Cypriana McCray for guiding us in the right direction!🙌🏾

We pray our sisters, of the National Council of Negro Women, both near and far had an amazing Founder’s Day and weekend! 💜

Thank you to the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce for inviting us to co-host the 14th annual AAPI Policy Forum in Northern Virginia this week. We had a great turnout and appreciated those who came to make our communities’ priorities heard. Education was a key focus, and we were honored to provide a space for bipartisan dialogue on what matters to Asian Americans in NoVA.

A powerful quote from Senator Dave Marsden resonated with us: “If you want to make a difference, you have to show up. A leader engages, helps, and learns through action.” We hope that you will join us in continuing this important dialogue and taking action to ensure Asian American voices help shape the future of education in Virginia.

Special thanks to U.S. Congressman @repgerryconnolly for the Congressional recognition of our chapter’s work, and to all of our distinguished speakers:
✨U.S. Congressman Don Beyer
✨VA Senator Stella Pekarsky, District 36
✨VA Senator David W. Marsden, District 35
✨Pat Herrity, Springfield District Supervisor, Fairfax County
✨Chris Falcon, Clerk of Court, Fairfax Circuit Court
✨Victor Angry, Neabsco District Supervisor, Prince William County
✨Gary Pan, Commissioner, VA Department of Labor and Industry
✨Chris Clemente, CEO of Comstock Holdings

Great Breakfast Meeting with Rep.Don Beyer, in the Members Dining Room of the House of Representatives. Attendees of the Breakfast: Darrylynn Franklin, President Alexandria Branch. NAACP. Mark Peters, Founder of PFA Global, Zakia Worthey. CEO. K.Lamb LLC. and Michael Hemminger. President, Arlington Branch, NAACP.

Unfortunately the light from the window washed out President Hemminger but
we had a wonderful discussion about voting rights and working more collaboratively for the upcoming election💜

Your favorite Iotas were serving the community at the Annual MAAHF along side @goodhealthwins to provide school supplies and information about vaccine awareness. It’s important to prepare our youth for a happy and safe return to the classroom. #vaiotas #ipt1963 #iotas #ncnw #ghwins #goodhealthwins #vaccineawareness #backtoschoolgiveaway #TheBestAround #novaiotas
