On Sunday, August 16 Central Health welcomed 100+ community members to @DavidChapelMBC for another incredible Vitals & Vibes event: an afternoon focused on connection, wellness, and improving access to care by bringing together predominantly Black and African American churches and community members with trusted health partners and local resources. Attendees had access to free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings from @AustinPublicHealth and connected with organizations including @BlackMensHealthClinic, @CalahCares, @NCNWUTAustin, UT Austin Memory & Aging Lab, and the @Center4cp. Attendees also learned about Medicare planning from John L. Clark III of JC3 Consulting. A special thank you to Pam’s Way Kitchen for exceptional catering and for continuing to show up for our community. And thank you to everyone who attended, shared resources, and helped make the day such a success! Together, we’re building stronger connections between our communities and the care people need.

Austin’s culture is built on creativity, diversity, and resilience. Removing the Black Artists Matter mural and the rainbow crosswalk erases symbols that honor the communities who shaped this city. In 2023, Austin generated $381 million for TxDOT and had an economic output of $248 billion, our impact deserves respect, not removal. We call on leaders to preserve these cultural landmarks and protect Austin’s legacy. #htnaacp #naacp #atx #austin #austintx #austintxlife #atxlife #atxliving #community #communitypowered #atxculture #austinculture #abbott #gregabbott #hbcu

Thank you to @ncnwutaustin for having me as a panelist. What a privilege it was to sit alongside @coachsydcarter and pour into the next generation of women. To see young women in college leaning into their dreams reminds me why we do this work, fashion may be my craft, but mentorship is my calling. I am deeply grateful to inspire, uplift, and remind them that their voice and vision already hold power.” This is everything that the @xolofoundation lives for✨ XOLO 🤍
