The annual Les Dames business dinner celebrated our new inductees and scholarship winners. As I pass on my presidential duties into the capable hands of @ndibona , I am staying on the board as past president to help continue our mission and to stay connected to this wonderful group of generous women. The meal and service from @walnuthillcollege was exceptional and revolved around fall pears. I have loved making new friends and meeting up with old ones. It reminds me of the childhood song we would sing; “Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other’s gold”. Love to my partner , co president @chef_jacquiekelly Let’s keep up our weekly phone calls! You rock.

Three chefs with decades of friendship between them working together for the Les Dames Heritage dinner all towards a common cause of honoring women in the culinary field. These three women have their own set of accomplishments and awards and want to pay it forward. Chef Angie Brown is showcasing beautiful Fall Vegetables and Chef Valerie Erwin is making a Jerk rubbed Beef Tenderloin with a Caribbean Green sauce. Former chef Lynn Buono is organizing the special dinner along with her co-chair Natanya DiBona. There is still time to grab a ticket. Find them in our website or Linktree in our bio

An Ode to Summer ☀️🥂

There are some summer afternoons you wish you could make last just a little longer.

For our final happy hour of the summer, Les Dames Philadelphia gathered in the beautiful courtyard at Anna & Bel, a little oasis tucked into a residential corner of Fishtown.

It was especially wonderful to see so many parts of our chapter gathered around the same tables—founding members Aliza Green and Susanna Foo, board members, longtime Dames, newer members, recent applicants, and friends of Les Dames who joined us for the afternoon.

At one point, we went around the group and each took less than a minute to share a little bit about ourselves. Just a minute—but enough to learn something new about the women sitting beside us. It was simple, personal, and one of the sweetest parts of the afternoon.

With our own little bar, beautiful bites, plenty of conversation, and that sparkling pool as our backdrop, it was the kind of afternoon that made you want to linger.

A lovely way to savor the last stretch of summer—and welcome all that comes next.

And what comes next? Our Heritage Dinner on September 13! We hope you’ll join us for one of the most special nights on our calendar. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, now’s the time—we’d love to see you there. 🥂

What a special day in New York City shared between the Philadelphia and New York chapters of Les Dames d’Escoffier International. ❤️

We began at the iconic James Beard House before heading into Greenwich Village for “A Walk in the Footsteps of James Beard,” exploring the streets, markets, bookstores, and neighborhood institutions that shaped Beard’s life and legacy. Along the way, we visited landmarks including Murray’s Cheese, Three Lives & Company, the historic Stonewall Inn, and enjoyed lunch at Olio e Più.

Thank you, Terry, for stepping in to lead the tour, and special thanks to Ronnie Campbell of the New York chapter for coordinating the NYC side of the experience.

A huge thank you as well to Jean Simon for creating the incredible walking guide and materials that made the tour so meaningful and seamless.

We ended the evening with dinner at Becco honoring Lidia Bastianich — the perfect ending to a day celebrating food, hospitality, friendship, and community.

2016 rewind: so much changed, so much hasn’t.

We danced, we ate, we celebrated, we opened restaurants, we took horizontal pictures, we used filters, we met celebrities, we lived our best life and we spoke up for ourselves.

It was the year I met Jason Kelce, hung out with @wdaspatty and Patti, was named the woman of the week 🙏, had BFF @phillychitchat hangouts everyday, got to see @nicoleisnik for more than ten minutes, had Jim Kenney crack a smile, helped open a taco revolution, literally lived at The Little Lion everyday, hung out at 2nd and South, was forced to wear a tie all the f’g time 😫, chased donkeys around town, covered history in action, said I’m with her (and Bill too), wore white to the Art museum, went French, saw my aunt in Philly for the last time, had adult drinks with my mom (at Little Lion, of course), made heart pizzas and fought for freedom. No matter the decade don’t ever forget love-always-tru mps-hate.

💙🫶👊🇺🇸

Highlight of 2025

Celebrating The Walnut Club’s 10 Year Anniversary in Philadelphia, and having a reunion with old friends, was an actual dream come true. (It was also a great reason to get dressed up and feel pretty for a change 😍)

Back in 2015, when I founded the club, my intention was to create a fun & supportive community of women that could grow and thrive without me (under new leadership) when the time came to step down.

After five years, hundreds of networking events and a few galas, the magnificent Marla Katz took the reins and thanks to her strong leadership, the women of Walnut (the WOWs) made it through a few challenges including a pandemic! And yes, it felt kismet another Marla succeeded me😁.

The anniversary took place at the same venue where the club was launched @positanocoastphilly. So it was a full circle moment that filled me with so much appreciation, love and gratitude for how far the club has come thanks to @marlabeth812 and the Board of Directors.

It was also great to meet the new president, Jennifer Nagel and hear about her exciting plans in continuing to grow the club & its impact among professional women in Philadelphia. Here’s hoping for another 5-10 years!

Big thank you for the new and old photos from @ndibona @marlabeth812 and @thejennnagel as I was enjoying myself too much to hardly take any 🙏.
