🎉 That’s a wrap on the “Leaders Of Tomorrow” Hackathon 2026 Final! 🚀

First launched in 2024 with just 60 students, LOT has grown into something truly inspiring. Building on our 2025 partnership with North East Community Development Council (NECDC), this year’s edition brought together 132 students across all 6 Temasek Polytechnic schools to tackle one of Singapore’s biggest challenges: Supporting an ageing population.

Working directly with insights from Active Ageing Centres, our students developed innovative solutions to drive senior engagement and social inclusion. 💡👵👴

We were deeply honoured to welcome Mr Baey Yam Keng, Mayor of North East District, Minister for Transport, and Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, as our Guest-of-Honour.

A massive congratulations to all our winning teams! 🏆 We can’t wait to see what’s in store for LOT 2027! 💥

A look back at the launch of Shaping Hearts at Nexus, Punggol Digital District 🖼️

We were thrilled to be a part of Singapore’s largest inclusive arts festival, celebrating the creativity and talents of our Extra•Ordinary Artists, alongside several other differently-abled artists.

It is always inspiring to see art bringing people together, creating connections, and opening up new ways to appreciate different perspectives 🎨

I may be more comfortable expressing myself through my painting than being in front of the camera, but here I am, sharing a little moment with my Wildflower Whispers.

Paintings are my way of expressing what words cannot always say. Sometimes, finding the courage to share my art means finding the courage to let a little more of myself to be seen.

If you enjoy my art, you can support my artistic journey at : shop.shapinghearts.cdc.gov.sg

for Genine, every opportunity to be part of something new is more than just an event, it is an opportunity to face the unfamiliar, experience something new, and grow at her own pace.
I have learnt to approach these moments with anticipation, but without expectation, because progress may come in the smallest moments. Even a few seconds of courage can mean so much. And when her art work is finally revealed, I see not only the beauty of her painting, but the courage it took for her to be there.

We thought we were filming just another artwork reveal, but this happened… when Genine finally pulled the cloth off, it made her artwork even more special. 💛

She's a Shaping Hearts Artist living with Global Developmental Delay, which can make everyday tasks a lot harder than they look. But when it comes to art, she has a unique way of painting: she paints with her hands and feet, her whole body on the canvas; and it's her way of expressing herself when words don't come easy. 🎨

This is her art. If you want to support her, you can buy it at 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽.𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀.𝗰𝗱𝗰.𝗴𝗼𝘃.𝘀𝗴.

Over 130 students from @temasekpoly came together for the Leaders of Tomorrow Hackathon 2026, co-organised by Temasek Polytechnic (@temaseklaunchpad) and @necdc. Working with Active Ageing Centres across the North East District, the students explored the needs and aspirations of our seniors and developed ideas to better support them.

During the dialogue session, it was encouraging to see the students’ interest in giving back and making a difference in the community.

Thanks to the teachers and Active Ageing Centres for guiding the students throughout this journey. I look forward to seeing our students turn their ideas into action and play a part in building our North East community where our seniors feels supported and connected! 🤝
