Picking up roadkill in many states is now legal. However, there are still many regulations around this process. We are delighted to have Kristnh Scavenger of @necessary.tools join us as our instructor! In this class she will discuss the benefits and uses of roadkill, what do you do once you have the roadkill, what you need to make the most of it, and the hazards of picking up roadkill. Join us for an informative talk that will answer all these questions and more - she will also demonstrate how to process small game! Kristnh Scavenger offers classes and beautiful hand-crafted goods such as bone jewelry, veg-tanned squirrel pouches, and fat & smoke tanned rabbit scarves. Today is the summer solstice. Also known as litha, or midsummer. Nearly all cultures have some sort of celebration around this day. The summer solstice is the day with the longest time of sunshine, and the shortest time of darkness. This is a fire festival celebrated with bonfires, feasting, and honoring of the sun and the earth. The 2 things that keep all of us alive. We feast on fresh summer vegetables, and meats such as lamb, or fresh fish. Wine and mead may flow plentiful. Spend time outside with family and friends. Decorate with wildflowers. This is a time for lugh, Cernunos, Helios, Apollo, Freyr, or sunna. This is a time of great fertility in all things. This is one of the highest holidays. Celebrate and be thankful. Remember the good in life, and help those in need.
