Not quite the day I wanted to have fighting a quad issue, But what a day all the same, Forever grateful to be part of the kickass team I get the privilege to call myself a part of and the awesome people who compete alongside me, so awesome to finally meet so many of you guys in person instead of just through the groupchat 😂, Now it’s time to learn from today and come back harder and stronger. (Also thank you to Milly for giving me your hair tie on the fly) BELT ON

What an amazing weekend.

Really happy about how squats ended up peaking this meet, I was absolutely shocked (as you all can see with my dumb face).

The other two lifts I can’t say the same for but in-hindsight, Bench went better than I thought it would have with my elbow/bicep pain, and deadlifts, seeing as we swapped to conventional 2 months ago, I also can’t complain, especially putting 20 keys on the total despite of my third pull. (At least we got the last photo of me😹)

Even though I’m a junior, I decided to go into the open, that way I could compete on the same day and platform as my boys @cameronmayor and @willpill13. I wouldn’t trade anything for being able to scream at Will for his final pull and seeing Cam have the biggest smile on his face after putting 40kg on his total as well as hitting the podium. I also had so much fun the day after volunteering with the special olympics, and as the announcer. I just got so unbelievably fired up announcing and for everyone competing with so many provincial records being loaded and amazing performances.

In the end of the day, lifting the weight was cool, but powerlifting to me is so much more than just a total/lift, it’s about meeting these people and making unbelievable memories. It’s about the community and love.

Absolute enormous thanks to @bcpowerliftingassociation, @evanportermedia, @bebetterbrae Black thunder club, the referees, to all the volunteers and the unfathomable crowd who put this all together. I cannot express enough gratitude for all of you who continue to make powerlifting special to me and keep my passion alive.

and most importantly, the best team, community, and family, @platformready_coaching. The people who give me the most unconditional love, support and strength. Thank you @colton_prc and @liam_prc for putting this community together. You guys are my powerlifting.

Kraken Open Recap 🥇:

1st Place Mens Open 120kg out of 7

8/9
Squat: 529lbs/240kg (+7.5kg)
Bench: 402lbs/182.5kg (185 was close but just not the day)
Deadlift: 612lbs/277.5kg (+5kg)
Total: 700kg

Went into this meet with two things in mind: to win and to finally hit 700kg, which had eluded me twice, and we nailed both.

Squat really showed up, with my 3rd looking somewhat easy! 2024 might be the year of the squat for me. Bench... well my Inzers got a bit too stretched and unable to be used, so benching on the backup wraps did not bode well, so PR Match. Deadlift showed up when it mattered most.

So many emotions for this meet. Overall, extremely happy with the performance. Wish bench was a bit better, but did good given circumstances, the other two lifts more than made up for it. I was extremely honored to be able to share the platform with so many strong people, and the 120 battle more than lived up to the billing, especially with two more joining the party.

@colton_prc as always, we've trusted the process and you always put me in the best position to succeed, and we soared today. We are on the path to something special.

@felicity.dean you've been my rock this whole prep, helping me fight the self doubt I had at times, and helped pick me back up after bench, and put tiger balm on me to keep me in one piece 😂❤️

A huge thank you to the PL community @bcpowerliftingassociation From the directors, to the volunteers, to the refs, the handlers, the media crew @evanportermedia and @cleanstrengthmedia , to the crowd, who got me so hyped for my final deadlift, basically EVERYONE. You made this meet mean so much to not just myself but everyone.

Time to rest for a bit, then back to work! As for a next meet plan, haven't quite thought of it yet, but we shall see. Until then, much love to everyone.
