I recently traveled to @nefunctionalmedicine for a meetup & was able to do a TPE (Therapeutic Plasma Exchange).

What’s TPE? It’s basically a “toss the toxins” for your bloodstream. 🗑️🩸Your plasma is removed & replaced, significantly lowering circulating inflammatory proteins, antibodies, & toxic substances. Research has shown its powerful ability to reduce environmental toxins, Lyme spirochetes & even heavy metals 🙌🏼. It is actually an established medical treatment that’s well researched yet not widely implemented.

As many of you know, 90% of disease is related to lifestyle, not genetics, & a large majority of this is our exposure to everyday toxins. After having lived a low-tox life since 2008 (which alone gave me my life back!), done Lyme protocols, moved out of moldy homes & removed dental cavitations, TPE felt like the final sweep! 🧹👋 I personally have weak detox pathways & SNPs in my genes that leave my body unable to break down toxins easily, so this was a huge blessing for lowering my total toxic burden.

Just one session can remove about 63% of toxins on average 🥳🤯

TPE is even safe for kids! Research & clinical evidence has shown that it can be especially helpful for children who are dealing with PANS/PANDAS as well as mold toxicity.

Of course this is NOT medical advice, and this should ONLY be done with unique medical care! Every body is different. ❤️‍🩹

If you are interested in more info on TPE, @nefunctionalmedicine is happy to answer any questions! Remember, we never accept affiliate commission so this is simply us sharing what we are passionate about & what we believe may help you on your healing journey!

If you’re sick and can’t heal or something feels off in your house. Don’t forget to rule out mold.

Here’s the deal, when we first sought functional medicine over 4 years ago, mold was immediately brought up as a cause for our symptoms. I said our house is fine there’s no way we have mold….. because just 6 years prior we tore down a house that was infested with bad bad mold and built a new one. We knew we’d had a major exposure but were naively confident that our new house was mold free… (sorry for being sassy about it @nefunctionalmedicine you were right 😜)

Fast forward 4 years and we’ve done literally everything “right” to heal but still had lingering symptoms. The thing we couldn’t let go was I had a rash on my legs that NOTHING could get rid of… for two full years. 4/5 of us have mild illness symptoms that we had chocked up to other things. So we finally tested for mold and our beautiful home we built 10 years ago, that we thought we’d live in until one of our kids is ready to take over the farm, is full of hidden mold.

Still unsure what the future looks like for us and this house. All I know is that God is good and He will see us through this. AND even a very clean, newer home with zero obvious signs of mold can 100% be making you sick. Not spreading fear, just sharing our story! 🫶🏼

@the.organimama sharing her story helped me find the right professionals and @kristen.lemmon sharing her story gave me the confidence to share mine. 🤍

I hate that this is our reality, but I also feel a lot less crazy because we finally have an answer to why we couldn’t fully heal.

Wouldn’t be fair to only share the progress and the wins. Feeling V discouraged but not unpacking here. Felt the feels this morning and now I’m moving on!!

I got a prolozone injection in my knee at @nefunctionalmedicine this morning and have a wonderful PT to help me as well.

Very hopeful I can work through this. Levi reminded me to hold it with an open hand and ask God what he’s teaching me in this season. Scaling back but not yet giving up on my goal!

And shout out to @frownies for hanging on through 8 miles or running and 2 miles of tears 😂🙌🏼
