it’s taken me a while to try and process the beauty i experienced at my @pocket.films.tm solo art show opening night party at @lowbrow for 1st Thursday (the show will be up for all of august). 🥳 what has been so clear to me is that, while creating the work was an intensely challenging/healing process, opening night was made sacred by the people who came out to support my dream of showing my work. it’s always about the people in this life, and i feel so overwhelmed with gratitude for all of you! 🙏 friends from my time in the trail running world, from my time working in the footwear industry, new friends i’ve met through showing my art, and even two amazing friends who flew in from CO to surprise me; all of you made this event the sacred time that it was, and thank you! 🙌 the last photo in this post is super important to me. as a “functioning perfectionist,” my art includes many processes which require the upmost perfection, if the final piece is to hold the power the audience deserves. at times, this can cause deep, paralyzing fear within me, and at one of these moments, i wrote this sign, in sharpee on cardboard, to remind myself, why the work is worth conquering the fear. it’s worth it, because you, the viewer, deserve the message, and if i can put aside the fear, and build my work with love, the message, and the piece, when complete, will serve as my love letter to you, to remind you that you are of deep value; to remind you that this life is worth conquering your fears. ❤️ cheers to the first of many beautiful shows, and i will create with you in mind, in heart, forever! 🙌 @pocketfilms @hieronymus #pocketfilmstm #createsacredspacetm #art #literature

Last Saturday was my first attempt at 100 miles. Made it 94 miles before the race being cancelled due to smoke from the Grasshopper fire. Despite the unfavorable outcome, I was able to celebrate two consecutive years of sobriety, another huge milestone for me. I am so grateful for my friends @indirapalmer, @logan_debusk who barely slept all weekend and had to run through the smoke during the night. As well as the homie Oscar @negativesplitter for coming in last minute to pace after Logan twisted his ankle. I owe you guys big time! And @emilykmliu who has been my coach and support for this and literally everything else in my life. Thank you for getting the wet wipes and Imodium. Love you so much! Also a shoutout to @daybreakracing for doing the best they possibly could to deliver a great event given the circumstances. And @jamesholk for the sweet pics. Looking forward to the next one!
