🌺 Today, we begin. Hoy empieza todo. After months of dreaming, planning, pouring our whole hearts — todo nuestro corazón — into every detail, AASECT 2026 is officially here. 🇵🇷✨ Walking into these doors today felt like exhaling after holding my breath for a very long time. Como soltar el aire que llevaba meses guardando. The energy in this room — la energía en este lugar — is already something I cannot fully put into words. Solo se siente. You just feel it. To every person who showed up — who booked the flight, who logged on, who said sí to showing up for themselves and this community — I see you. Te veo. I am so glad you are here. Me alegra tanto que estés aquí. This is not just a conference. This is a gathering. Una reunión del alma. This is a homecoming. Un regreso a casa. Let’s begin. Empecemos. 💛🌺 @theaasect #AASECT2026 #AquiYAhora #AASECT #AASECTPuertoRico #SexTherapy

We have landed, beloved community@assect. ✨🌴 The island called and we answered. Your AASECT 2026 co-chairs — Jacqueline Mendez and Neil Sampson — have officially touched down in the most magical place on earth, La Isla del Encanto, and Puerto Rico did not disappoint. 🇵🇷💛 Old San Juan wrapped us in her colors, her warmth, her cobblestone rhythm, her comida deliciosa and the rum — and we soaked every golden ray into our skin like we were storing sunshine for all of you because showing up to serve and welcome this community is exactly why we are here. 🌺☀️ We are here. We are ready. And we are holding so much excitement in our hearts for what this week is going to be — for every person walking through those doors, and every beautiful soul joining us from across the screen. 💻🤍 Whether you’re arriving with your suitcase or logging in from your living room — this conference was built for you. Every session, every connection, every moment of this gathering was put together with love, intention, and a whole lot of cafecito. ☕🌺 The energy is already electricidad. The community is already here. And the best is absolutely yet to come. AASECT 2026 is officially open for the heart. 💫 📍 Puerto Rico | Old San Juan 🗓️ The countdown is over — we’re HERE. Bienvenidos, bienvenidas y bienvenides — welcome everyone. Nos vemos pronto. 🌊🌴 #AASECT2026 #AquiyAhora #SexTherapy #AASECT

What an incredible honour to serve as Local Ambassador to the annual @theaasect Conference! In this role, I had a chance to connect with our local First Nations, Nuwu (Southern Paiute), communities and peoples, including Nuwu Art and the incredible Sol Matrinez, who provided such a, not only essential, but meaningful, land acknowledgment to open the conference. I also had a chance to re-connect with our outstanding Las Vegas Mayor, Shelley Berkley @berkley4mayor, who provided us with a Proclamation of June 5, 2025, our opening conference day, being Amercian Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) day. I also had the opportunity to re-connect with the amazing Norma Llyaman, 2024 Mrs. Las Vegas Pride @pridelasvegas, who served as a fun and energetically awesome hostess with the mostest! And I had the chance to get folx interested in touring our outstanding Erotic Heritage Museum @eroticmuseumvegas to do so by re-connecting with the museum and the Director Dr. Victoria Hartmann @sexnerdpod - they even got to get a sneak peek at the upcoming exhibit on sex tech/digisexuality, upon which I am collaborating! I also had the chance co-lead the first ever Advanced Sexual Atittude Reassesment (SAR) focused on digihealth, digiattachment, and digisexuality with Dr. Alex Iantaffi @xtaffi, Coltan J. Schoenike @coltanschoenike, and Kei Skeide, and with group leaders, Drs. Neil McArthur @moral.lust and Allen Mallory @nmbr1bballplyer, as well as LynAnne Evenson @lynannemariee, Root Holden @rootholden, Finch Houdek, and June Rusch! It was also an absolute honor to introduce our first plenary speaker, Dr. Jess O’Reilly @sexwithdrjess , whose talk was inspiring, collaborative, culturally thoughtful and humble - just no notes! And, of course, the reception of the AASECT 2025 Sexuality Educator Award was the recognition of a lifetime of mine and many others work in this essential area. But, perhaps, it was the time spent with so many friends and colleagues that was the most meaningful of all and I will cherish this and each of you forever! #aasect #assect2025 #vivalaaasect #digisexuality #digihealth #digiattachment #nuwuland #timmyhos #timhortons
