Tomorrow is our FOURTH Música y Poemas festival, and I’m feeling a little sentimental about how much this celebration has grown. One of my favorite things about this event is seeing the relationships that make it possible come together in real time. Last month, @nelasbn cofounder @labellatini took Inglewood legend @dsmoke7 around the Fig strip of Highland Park to meet some of the incredible women behind our local businesses, including @realchefdeblee of @yicha_la (who will be giving out free yuzu lemonade and stickers for the kiddos tomorrow!). I was honored to meet him as he experienced the beauty of HLP, and now he’s coming back for a special performance at Música y Poemas tomorrow. And of course, we couldn’t celebrate Highland Park without our very own @reverielove, born and raised in HLP coming home to headline! We both attended Franklin High School so having her perform is extra special to me. These are artists who carry their communities with them, and tomorrow we’re bringing them together to celebrate the people and neighborhoods that give LA its soul. Tomorrow is gonna be a special one, fam. I hope I see you there.

Bring your broken household items and get them fixed by volunteers FOR FREE! Clothing, textiles, small electronics, jewelry, wood items, small furniture-- plus knife & tool sharpening and Bicycle tuneups by Bike Oven! 3 item limit per person. Clothing must be clean! First Come, First Served. (Sorry, no fit alterations, zippers or hemming on clothing. We are not equipped to work on game consoles, computers, microwaves or TVs).
