I always enjoy re-meeting old faves and meeting some for the first time, and here’s a sprinkling of both. I may have spammed y’all with all the author love from #bookbonanza23 in the last couple days, but now it’s time for an overall recap. Yes I forgot to take a picture of the actual welcome banner. Yes I made bracelets

As some of you probably heard, there were some hiccups and some not-so-great incidents and more ~drama~ compared to previous years, but BB as usual gave me an opportunity to meet some of my favorite authors and hang out with my bookish besties. Which, we must remember is the most important thing. And why we do this. Not the special editions (even though I love them) or even the signed books. And hey, a ton of money was raised for charity! All in all, I hope we all had a marvelous time (I did)

✨ Genre I 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦:
If you had asked me 6 months ago, I would have said Horror and Thrillers. Clearly we know this is no longer the case lol. 😉 It’s hard to say for sure since I’m open to most books if I vibe with them. But I would say most non fiction is not for me.

✨ W𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫:
Starting a book and stopping for whatever reason and taking a long time to get back to it. I’m talking years in some cases. 🫣

✨ Do I 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬:
I do! I get too anxious when I start a book and don’t know even a little bit of what to expect. I don’t need to know all the details, just a basic premise and I’m good. 👍🏻

✨ Do I 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬:
Absolutely! As long as they're in okay shape!

✨ F𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫:
Another impossible question to ask. I don’t think I had a top fave of 2021 but a few at the top of my list would be ACOSF, HOEAB, the Madison Kate series, EOTV, FBAA, Crush, TNOW, and so many more lol

Sense and Sensibility followed closely by Pride and Prejudice.

All SJM books, The Nature of Witches, Shatter Me, and anything written by Tate James or Kerri Maniscalco.

Recently I was disappointed by Book of Night and I Kissed Shara Wheeler.

Best way to start a week? A night out with the gals from book club, celebrating the latest books from @teriwilsonauthor & @sasha.summers .
