POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last week, our 3B Founder, Brooklyn DeLawn, had the opportunity to serve as a guest reader for the Springfield Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School!

She shared Nelly’s Affirmations, the children’s book she wrote to promote confidence, representation, and social-emotional wellness. She even brought Stuffed Nelly along for the experience! The scholars were engaged, participated in the affirmations, and reminded us how powerful it is when children see themselves reflected in the stories they read.

Rooted in the spirit of Sankofa, this moment was about honoring where we come from, affirming who we are, and using those lessons to build a stronger future.

The work is not over yet. Stay tuned for more!

The youngest president in The3BKids… and she understood the assignment.

Meet Zyan Bradley, Valley Chapter President, leading with purpose, pride, and presence from Xenia, Ohio to Detroit. Whether she’s managing school, leading her team, or pouring into the next generation, she shows up every time.

Today, she’s reading Nelly’s Affirmations one of our Reading Buddies favorites. This is more than a book, it’s how we build confidence, literacy, and self-worth in our K through 5 friends.

We don’t just read. We affirm. We lead. We show up.
Follow along and tap in.

I had the privilege of visiting @linc.columbus to help kick off Literacy Week, and my heart is still full.

Thank you to Principal @theofficialdavidross for inviting me and @the3bkids to share my children’s book Nelly’s Affirmations with the students.

The atmosphere at LINC was full of care and intention. Every single detail from the setting to the resources and the energy of the staff reflected genuine love for the kids they serve.

We spent time talking about emotions, kindness, empathy, and believing in ourselves.

Together we said :

I love myself.
I believe in myself.
I’m proud of myself.
I’m a genius.

…and added “I am” statements like I am kind. I am brave. I am smart. I am enough.. for our Mini KINGS and QUEENS kindness activity.

LINC Academy is doing powerful work for the next generation, and I look forward to staying connected and seeing all that’s ahead. 💛

Linden is where it all started. 💚

It takes a village to raise a child, and the older I get the more grateful I become for the ones who chose me early on. Linden S.T.E.M. Academy is more than my old school; it’s where seeds of purpose were planted and watered by people who saw something in me before I saw it in myself.

Life will test you. You’ll be judged, bullied, doubted, picked up, and dropped again, but it’s the journey and the people along the way that shape who you become. The power of knowledge, empathy, and love will always guide you back home.

I had the honor of returning to Linden to read my book “Nelly’s Affirmations.” We talked about feelings, how they’re meant to be felt, and how mental health, kindness, and representation all matter. The students were so honest and full of life, reminding me why these real conversations with our youth are so important.

Special love to Mrs. Smith and Ms. Thomas, two women who have been pouring into me for over 13 years. They taught me the power of knowledge and where it can take you when used correctly. They taught me to lead with grace, listen with empathy, and never forget where I come from.

We touched on bullying and empathy, what it means to see yourself in stories, and how every child deserves to know:
I love myself. I believe in myself. I’m proud of myself. I’m a genius.

I’ll never forget where I come from. Linden raised me, and I’ll always come back to pour love and light into the next generation. Knowledge is power, and community is strongest where we water the seeds and let them grow. 🌻

✨ Meet Nelly.
She’s got big glasses, big feelings, and even bigger potential.

In Nelly’s Affirmations, we follow a little girl learning how to love herself out loud — with the help of a mentor who reminds her she’s more than enough. This story is for every child who’s ever felt different, silenced, or unsure.

We’re speaking life early and often.
Let the affirmations begin. 🧡

Kindness goes further than we think.

At The3BKids, I’ve seen how one small act — a smile, a word of encouragement, a moment of being present — can shift the course of a young person’s day… or their life. That’s the heartbeat of Building Bonded Brilliance and the reason Nelly’s Affirmations exists.

Through Nelly’s story, kids learn to love themselves, believe in their abilities, and stand proud in who they are. Every page reminds them that they are worthy, brilliant, and capable — lessons that start with kindness and grow into confidence.

💛 I love myself.
💛 I believe in myself.
💛 I’m proud of myself.
💛 I’m a genius.

This book is perfect for classrooms, school counselors, libraries, and read-alouds — anywhere children can gather, connect, and be reminded of their worth. Because when we choose kindness, we create connection. And connection creates impact. Our kids are watching — let’s give them something powerful to see.

✨ The first person to ever see Nelly’s Affirmations was my mentor — the woman who poured so much into me. Watching her react… whew. She laughed, she felt it in her heart, and she even saw herself in the story.

This book is for the little ones finding their voice, the mentors who speak life, and the villages that never stop showing up. 🧡
