Violence against women is in the news these days, and that can bring up a LOT. Sometimes I don’t know if I want to cry or scream. Who’s with me?

Do you know what felt incredible? Doing something to support survivors. I am so proud of my company who sponsored the Ride for Refuge, and with your help (yes you, my friends and colleagues) we helped to raise almost $30,000 for the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House.
I got to spend time handing out snacks and drinks with @agakootenayhomes and @natalieportlockrealestate and we danced, cheered, met new people, and just had a great time.

The Aimee Beaulieu Transition House is a cozy little home that provides room, clothing, food, rides, access to services for women, children and even pets fleeing domestic violence. There are only a few rooms, and they are often at capacity. These are emergency stays, not long term, and our community still lacks the next stage of supportive housing.

What was a little surprising is that this little house is all we have for miles around, and serves surrounding communities like Castlegar, the Valley, and more.

And when I say we almost raised $30,000, I mean we raised $29,669. I wonder if I have any friends out there that would want to donate a little. Could you imagine if we got to 30k? Or more?

I know times are tight, but if you want to be the change, I can tell you this is one worthwhile organization.

And if you’re one of the women feeling helpless, or one of the men who is tired of this happening to your mothers, sisters and daughters, go help someone today. Volunteer somewhere. Give a little cash. Honestly, it helps❤️

I’ll put the link in my story🫶

“In Her Shoes” is a workshop we did in our office alongside staff from the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House. We learned about Intimate Partner Violence, about the services the cozy home and staff provide to women children and even pets fleeing domestic abuse, as well as the phone and text support staff can provide.

Then, in pairs, we were given a card, a character, and we got to follow their journey as they tried to seek safety from violence.

We had 14 stations set up through the building, including court, emergency shelter, friends, family, police, going home and even the cemetery.

It was a TOUGH exercise and for just a few hours many of us got to experience a very frustrating, scary experience, and that was without the emotional and physical injury our characters experienced.

The @rlpshelterfdn asked us to choose a local recipient of the funds we raise, and we’ve chosen the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House wholeheartedly.

This Saturday, you can join us on the Ride for Refuge. Come and participate in the walk/run/bike ride and show community support, or donate funds (our link is in our bio). We’ll be set up on the walk/run midpoint with juice, snacks, cheers, and high fives.

THANK YOU to everyone who has volunteered or donated so far, and we thank @nelsoncommunityservices and the incredible staff at the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House for your enthusiasm, the workshop, and the care you provide our community.

The Ride for Refuge is THIS Saturday, sign in starts at 10am at the Svoboda rail trail parking lot. Come and support the Aimee Beaulieu Transition house by walking, running or riding your bike.

Can’t make it? We are raising funds for this important community resource! See the link in our bio to donate to the Royal LePage Rosling Realty Team. We’ll also be serving treats on the walk/run course. We can’t wait to give you a high five and cheer you on. This is a family event, and it’s not too late to join us!

The stats on intimate partner violence are stirring, and our local transition house provides emergency services, and other support to women, children and pets in our community. They offer emergency housing, clothing, rides, text and phone support, and more. Last year’s run helped to fund counselling services, and our support is more important this year than ever!

We are thrilled to support the Aimee Beaulieu Transition house as they are the recipient of any Royal LePage Shelter Foundation funds in our community. We’ll be coming at you with more ways you can support this organization.

If you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late. Come on out and help us raise awareness and valuable resources for women and children who are suffering abuse at home.

📣 It’s Donation Time! 🧡

I’m proud to support Nelson Community Services — an incredible organization right here in Nelson that provides counselling, housing support, and essential programs for youth, families, and individuals in need.

Giving back is a core part of my business. Every successful closing = a donation to a local non-profit 💛

Together, we make our community stronger.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling, let’s connect — and continue supporting the organizations that make the Kootenays such a special place to call home.

Hello Bonjour! It's Kai your REALTOR® !

For every successful closing, I donate $200 to a local non-profit in the Kootenays — giving back to these amazing communities of Nelson, Castlegar, Trail including everything in between. 🏡❤️

Here are a few of the incredible organizations I’ve supported so far:
👉 Nelson Community Services
👉 Nelson Community Food Centre
👉 Trail FAIR Society
👉 KERPA Fundraiser
👉 Cicada Place in Nelson
👉 Castlegar & District Community Services Society
👉 Sanctuary Preteen Centre in Trail

… and I also make a yearly donation to a local Pride organization. Last year I donated to Nelson Pride and I am planning to do the same this year. 🌈

I'm also planning to start donating to organizations that support animals!

Your Real Estate journey can make a difference. Let’s keep going together.
