🔬👷🏽‍♀️LITTLE ENGINEERS, BIG IDEAS! 💡✨

Who says first graders can’t think like engineers?! 🧠🛠️

Our young scientists took on an Engineering Challenge to design and create protective gear that would keep scientists safe while exploring a pond!

From identifying the problem to brainstorming solutions, sketching designs, building prototypes, testing their creations, and presenting their final products, these scholars experienced the engineering process firsthand!

💡 They weren’t just learning science. They were DOING science!

Throughout this challenge, students practiced critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and creativity. Most importantly, they learned that every great invention begins with an idea and the courage to try!

In Mrs. Green’s classroom, we don’t just teach the standards. We bring them to LIFE! ✨

🌱First Grade Plant Day! 🌱

Our first graders are learning all about plant body parts in PhD Science, so we decided to bring our learning to life by planting and growing our very own lima bean plants! 🫘🌿 Over the next few weeks, our students will observe their plants as they grow and connect what they see to what they’ve been learning in science.

A HUGE thank you to our partnership with BREC @bwatkins87 for providing all of our materials and helping co- teach our students the planting process!

We love giving our students opportunities to learn through hands-on, project-based experiences. Sometimes the best learning happens when little hands get to dig in and DO! 🌱🪴🔎

It finally happened…. Something that was destined by God… Something that’s been in the making when we had no clue but God knew. He knew exactly what he was doing when he placed you 2 in one another’s lives in 9th grade. If anybody would’ve said Karniecesha and Catrell would be here where they are today we would’ve never believed it lol best friends forever to each others forever LITERALLY. You had to be there to witness this Union. Anybody in the room who had given up on love or just didn’t believe found hope again and I can speak on that because I’m one of them. Yall really give me hope. To witness a genuine true love from friends to companions, done the right way, was truly amazing. I wish yall nothing but the best. You are both so deserving. I love yall #thegrasswasgreener #greensloading #forevergreen💚💚💚
