Starting the week with a strong gym session 💪🏼

Our fitness coach, Ivana Knezevic, leads the players through a session focused on strength, stability, coordination and movement control.

At LJTA, gym work is a regular part of our players’ training routine, planned alongside their on-court work and the demands of competitive tennis.

The aim is to build physical capacity consistently, throughout the season — not just when competition is around the corner.

Some things in tennis can’t be rushed.

Young players often want to see progress quickly.
That’s natural. But as Ivan explains, developing a technical skill takes months of focused work and repetition before it truly becomes part of your game.

You can understand what your coach is asking you to do, but understanding it and being able to rely on it on court are two different things.

That’s where the work happens.

Going back to the same detail, paying attention to small adjustments and repeating it until it no longer feels like something you’re trying to do — it becomes part of the way you play.

Because sometimes, the biggest step forward comes from working on one small thing for a little longer.

The best advice often comes from looking back.

We asked Ivan what he wishes he had understood about professional tennis at our players’ age.

Looking back, one thing stands out: he wishes he had enjoyed it more.

When you're young and working towards becoming a professional, it's easy to focus so much on the next goal, the next win, or how much further you still have to go that you forget to enjoy the process itself.

Because development takes time, and the journey matters just as much as the results.

A reminder for our young players to keep working hard, be patient and, above all, enjoy playing the game.

What a week of tennis it's been at J60 Veli Losinj!

A special mention goes to our Ana Marija Rebic, who finished an incredible tournament in the semi-finals. After a dramatic three-set comeback against the No. 5 seed in the quarter-finals, Ana Marija battled through another three-set match in the semi-finals. It didn’t go her way, but reaching the last four of an ITF J60 at just 13 years old is a fantastic achievement. 👏🔥

In doubles, Ana Marija and Nera Skender also put together a strong run, reaching the quarter-finals.

Our dynamic duo Richard Lacis and Boris Hristakiev matched that result on the boys’ side, also making it through to the doubles quarter-finals. 💪

And a very special milestone for our Karina Marchenko, who played her first-ever ITF tournament this week — and picked up her first ITF wins in both singles and doubles! What a way to start. 👏

Well done to all our players who competed this week. Lots of matches, valuable experience and plenty to build on. Keep going, keep learning, keep building!

The tournament is underway, and our players are ready to make the most of it.

Our Ivan Hristakiev and Nera Skender are heading into J60 Veli Losinj with a simple mindset — play as many matches as possible, play some good tennis and, most importantly, have fun.

Good luck, Ivan and Nera!

Summer may be winding down, but we’re not done with tennis just yet. 😉

A session with our Academy Pro player Nera Skender and some of our Summer Camp players — because there’s always room for one more rally, one more challenge and one more day on court.

Last week was another strong week for our Pro players!

Our Nera Skender reached the doubles final at the J60 Domzale in Slovenia alongside her partner Ilaria Morozin, finishing the tournament as runner-up. Another step forward for Nera, whose hard work, commitment and willingness to keep learning continue to show on court.

And our Richard Lacis added another deep run to his recent results, reaching the singles final at the J200 in Belgrade. Another final, another strong week of competition — and another reminder of the level Richard is building through his work and consistency. Keep going, Richard.

In Skopje, our Yanru Li advanced to the quarterfinals of the J30, continuing to gain valuable experience and competing deep into the tournament.

Different tournaments, different challenges, but the same thing connecting all three: showing up, putting in the work and giving themselves the chance to compete at their best.

Well done, Nera, Richi and Yanru. We’re proud of you. 💚

Talent can open the door, but character is what keeps you moving forward.

As you learn more about the philosophy behind our Academy Pro, our Head Coach, Luka Cvjetkovic, shares what we truly look for in young players.

Passion for the game.
Patience to trust the process.
The discipline to show up every day.
And the commitment to keep learning, even when progress isn't immediate.

Because Academy Pro isn't built around shortcuts—it's built around smart, purposeful work that helps players grow over time.

The season keeps moving—and so do our players!

This week brought another set of strong performances on the Juniors ITF World Tennis Tour.

At the ITF J30 Round Robin tournament in Vinkovci, our Ana Marija Rebic reached the singles quarterfinals, while Nera Skender enjoyed an outstanding week, finishing as singles runner-up and reaching the doubles semifinals alongside Milana Rasan-Buha.

Meanwhile, at the ITF J200 tournament in Basel, our Richard Lacis continued his impressive season, reaching the singles final and the doubles semifinals with Alexey Shibaev.

Congratulations to all our players and coaches—We look forward to seeing what the rest of the season has in store. Let's gooo! 💪🏼
