🖇️ Archive Milan 2026: Clima based in Milan presented Nicola Martini (b.1984, IT) and Emma Masut (b.2001, IT)

Clima presented a dialogue between two Italian artists a new body of work on canvas by Emma Masut and two microcrystalline wax sculptures by Nicola Martini. Despite their different uses of medium, the presented artworks shared a proximity in the way they generate a subtle tension within the surrounding environment and architecture. In Masut’s paintings, the represented time of the action appears suspended in an undefined moment -before or after the beginning, or the end, of an event- so that tension is perceived as a cognitive and psychological state. Martini’s sculptures, instead, reveal an ongoing operation between perception and materiality, giving space to an experimental process of becoming that foregrounds a physical tension inherent in the multiple configurations of the material itself. Hanged on the walls, Masut’s acrylic paintings, all rendered in nocturnal tones, depict motionless heavy heads, featureless hands, staged in unnatural positions revealing the artist’s intention to shape a private, intimate and restless everyday life. Dislocated throughout the space, Martini’s microcrystalline wax sculpture, coated in bitumen of Judea, reflect a geographical field of experimentation where the artist allows the physical properties of the substances to guide the final form of the object, highlighting the reactions between materials that evolve over time, generating reciprocal interactions and unstable equilibrium.

EFFLORESCENTIA

Dal latino efflorescere, “sbocciare verso l’esterno”, Efflorescentia nasce dall’idea della fioritura come condizione emotiva e interiore: un processo spontaneo attraverso cui ricordi, gesti ed emozioni riaffiorano trasformandosi in materia, colore e paesaggio.

In occasione del BNL Italy Major Premier Padel 2026 al Foro Italico, prende vita un percorso immersivo commissionato da Sport e Salute e FITP – Federazione Italiana Tennis e Padel, dove arte, floral design e arredo dialogano tra memoria, leggerezza e immaginazione.

Le carte da parati di Caterina Fantetti costruiscono una narrazione fatta di segni, stratificazioni, scarabocchi e fiori; una tenda damascata attraversa la Corporate Lounge con la frase: “tutto il non detto sta nei fiori che ho raccolto”, filo poetico dell’intero progetto.

All’ingresso, l’installazione site specific BREEZE di Gabriela Grandi / Copihue accoglie i visitatori con migliaia di fiori essiccati applicati a mano, trasformando la materia naturale in un’esperienza di sospensione e movimento. La ricerca dell’artista prosegue con I Fiori Fuori, un’installazione olfattiva che celebra il fiore come simbolo di fragilità, libertà e rigenerazione.

Completano il percorso gli arredi di Patricia Urquiola per Moroso, il tavolino Toast di Iammi, l’opera in marmo di Duccio Maria Gambi e Nicola Martini e l’installazione Tiles di Iammi, parte del progetto Alfabeti curato con @giorgiogalotti. MAY Part 1
ROME // FORO ITALICO

We spent two weeks in Rome together with master and friend Nicola Martini @neuemartini

Invited by @internazionalibnlditalia to work and experiment in a residency like situation we’ve set up a project called DOPPIO where our practices entered in dialogue and conflict.

Curated by @claudiapignatale and @giorgiogalotti DOPPIO gave us the chance to discuss and reflect using 11 cut out marble blocks as a game field and exploration terrain.

The resulting works of this dialogue (or match ? ) enter at their turn in dialogue with the amazing marble sculptures of athletes of the Pietrangeli stadium and through this last we guess will pose questions to the Foro Italico public about art and the idea of sculpture.

Thanks to Claudia and Giorgio for inviting us and letting us share a workshop with Nicola, like we used to for 2 years in Paris years ago.

The exhibition project conceived for the Internazionali BNL d’Italia at the Foro Italico continues its mission to enhance the areas dedicated to welcoming the guests of Sport e Salute and the FITP – Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, generating an exhibition itinerary that unfolds from the Sala delle Armi to the Corporate Hospitality lounges. The artworks and design furnishings are intended to offer a semantic panorama through textual traces and compositions conceived as spaces of observation, creating a cohesive pathway of continuous stimuli and messages that accompany visitors throughout the tournament.

A project by Giorgio Galotti and Claudia Pignatale about origins before language becomes certainty.

At Foro Italico, the 2026 intervention conceived for Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2026 transforms the space into a fragmented visual vocabulary: signs, surfaces, gestures, symbols and material presences.

The exhibition unfolds from Sala delle Armi through the park and the lounges surrounding the tennis stadium, building a dialogue between art, design and architecture through the idea of the alphabet as a primitive structure of human expression.

Clima presenta un dialogo tra @kenjiide e @neuemartini, tra presenza e assenza, azione e traccia. Martini trasforma lo spazio con Sippe, una superficie fotosensibile che riporta alla luce le memorie nascoste delle pareti, come un negativo vivente. Al centro, un monolite inciso diventa punto di incontro di assemblee intime e non documentate.
Le piccole sculture di Ide, create camminando e ispirate alla strada, appaiono come frammenti di storie sospese: gesti accaduti o imminenti. Insieme, le opere costruiscono un paesaggio silenzioso, simile a vicoli urbani, dove le tracce umane restano anche in assenza delle persone.
