Polina Osipova @polinatammi Cosmologies at Play September 19–October 25, 2026 Neun Kelche, Berlin @neunkelche Cosmologies at Play is Polina Osipova’s first solo exhibition in Germany. The artist develops a walk-in playground installation at the project space Neun Kelche, drawing on standardized Soviet playground typologies — particularly play structures with cosmic designs. Together with the curators, Osipova researches everyday architectures that were also widespread in Chuvashia, where she grew up. The exhibition connects Soviet imagery of progress with Chuvash cosmology, in which the cosmos is understood as a living, relational space and ancestors are conceived of as stars. Osipova examines how this indigenous worldview was reshaped by the Soviet narrative of space conquest, and how narratives of power and futurity inscribed themselves into children’s spaces of experience. The playground becomes legible as an ambivalent site: a space of play, hope and imagination — but equally one of control, normalization and ideological formation.

COSMOLOGIES AT PLAY BY POLINA OSIPOVA Currently on view at Neun Kelche in Berlin, Polina Osipova’s first solo exhibition in Germany transforms the project space into a walk-in playground where Chuvash cosmology meets the visual language of Soviet space-age playgrounds. Slides, seesaws and play structures become carriers of layered memory. Osipova combines metalwork, textiles and photographs from her family archive, shifting the cosmos away from a narrative of technological conquest toward a living, relational space in which ancestors are conceived as stars. The playground emerges as an ambivalent site — at once a space of play, hope and imagination, and one shaped by systems of control, normalization and inherited ideology. Through these altered structures, personal and collective memory remain in motion rather than settling into a single historical narrative. There’s still time until October 25 to visit ‘’Cosmologies at Play’’, @polinatammi ‘s first solo exhibition in Germany, at @neunkelche . Through a playground inspired by Soviet-era structures and the imagery of space exploration, Osipova brings Soviet culture into dialogue with Chuvash cosmology, exploring the relationship between childhood and narratives of power. A space seemingly made for play becomes an ambiguous site between imagination, hope and control. On view until October 25.
