Rep. LaMonica McIver says one of the toughest parts of facing federal charges hasn’t been the courtroom—it’s feeling like she’s been left to fight alone. The New Jersey congresswoman is accused of assaulting and interfering with federal officers during a confrontation outside Newark’s Delaney Hall ICE detention center, though she says she was carrying out her congressional oversight duties. Do you think she’s being treated fairly?

What a year, check this out!!! The 10th Annual Newark International Film Festival was nothing short of legendary. From unforgettable screenings and groundbreaking panels to red carpets filled with incredible talent, NIFF Year Ten proved why Newark is a global hub for film, art, and culture. 🎬 We celebrated filmmakers from around the world. 🎤 We heard powerful conversations that inspired the next generation. 🌍 We built community, connection, and creativity that will last long after the lights went down. Thank you to every filmmaker, panelist, sponsor, volunteer, and audience member who made this milestone year so special. This was not just a festival—it was a movement. Big shoutout to @wavegodphotography for the remix video NIFF is ten years strong and just getting started. 🚀 Here’s to the next decade of stories, culture, and impact. #NIFF10 #NewarkIFF #FilmFestival #TenYearsStrong

Our Behind the Reel: Jersey Edition panel was pure 🔥 — with Kiki Haynes, Tobias Truvillion, JD Williams, Laila Odom, and Antonique Smith dropping gems about the real journey of making it in the industry and our amazing history Latoya Dawson was on point. Shout out to our founder @kennyg3674 They kept it raw, real, and inspiring — sharing what works, what doesn’t, and how to keep pushing forward no matter what. This was more than a panel… it was a Jersey family reunion of talent, culture, and hustle. 💪🏾🎬 Stay tuned, because NIFF isn’t done yet — more unforgettable moments are still happening all week! 🎥 by @elihu_vfx #NIFF #BehindTheReel #JerseyStrong #NewarkIFF #FilmFestival #ItWasAJerseyThing

Join the Our Legacy movement so we can collectively work together to better our city. We all must get involved for real change to occur. Everyone needs to be held accountable when things go wrong. I am not here to point blame; we all have a role when it comes to our kids and the issues taking place in our city. Let’s bring back community engagement!
