A MESSAGE TO ALL OUR BRIGHTON JAZZ FESTIVAL COMMUNITY

We’re very sorry to announce that Brighton Jazz Festival will not be happening in 2026

Unfortunately we were unable to secure enough funding to go ahead with the event at the level of quality and excellence that we wanted.
Brighton Jazz Festival always places our wonderful community of local musicians at the heart of the Festival as well as seeking out the very best jazz talent from across the world.
Without our funding partners in place we can’t guarantee this level of quality and participation for all. Therefore with a heavy heart we have decided to change our plans and take a year out.

We are already working to return in 2027 bigger and better than ever! Thanks to our wonderful community of music fans and our fantastic production team - we’re sorry to let you down, but look forward to seeing you all again next year.

New album out today! 🤗 ‘Dancing On Bentwood Chairs (Live at Love Supreme)’ 💃🪑🕺🎪

The album captures Billy Marrows Band’s set on the @newgenjazz stage at this year’s @lovesupremefest, one of the most joyful Billy Marrows Band gigs so far, from start to finish, recorded on a single stereo mic with no editing (apart from cutting down my talking after Woland Blues…) and mastered by Alex Bonney.

Available to stream and buy digitally on Bandcamp, where you can also get postcards and T-shirts featuring the artwork 🖼️

Huge thanks to:

• @lovesupremefest and @eddiemyer and @jjkendon at @newgenjazz for inviting us to play and creating such a great stage 🎡

• My band @chris_williamsmusic 🎷 @huwvwilliams 🎻 and @yaydavis 🥁 for playing so incredibly and being such generous spirited people 🔥☺️

• Everyone who came to watch us at Love Supreme or any of our other gigs on the DOBC tour 🙏🧡

• Thanks to @albonney for mastering it so beautifully 🎛️

• Thanks to my dad @timothy_.morrison for the wonderful collage artwork 👨‍🎨😺

• And finally thanks to everyone who has supported the album so far! 😚

At @lovesupremefest this summer. @huwvwilliams (🎻) and @chris_williamsmusic (🎷) from the Billy Marrows Band brought their two/three year old daughters to the festival. They had only met a couple of times before but were inseparable, like best friends ☺️

My dad @timothy_.morrison included them in his artwork for the live album, a mid-dance hug based on a video of them dancing to our set on the @newgenjazz stage 💃🧑‍🩰

Live album out tomorrow, Thurs 3 Sept! 🎪

At the start of July, Billy Marrows Band had the pleasure of playing one of our most joyous gigs yet, on the @newgenjazz stage at @lovesupremefest 2026 🎪

Now, I’m delighted to be able to share that set with you in full, as ‘Dancing On Bentwood Chairs (Live at Love Supreme)’ - out 3 Sept! 🎠

I’m even more thrilled about the incredible new artwork my dad @timothy_.morrison has done for it! 🎨

Pre-save or pre-order on Bandcamp, where you can see the full artwork and hear the first track 😽
