On the Loop

By Matteo Wolfart, Benjamin Junghardt, German Kiyyan

@matteo.wolfart @brotbykiyyan @benjaminjunghardt

Once you see the world through a cybernetic lens, all things are cybernetic. Algorithms and thus algocracies, are just one example of many, and serve us to observe and better understand the mechanics of feedback loops. How is housing shortage integrated this iterative cycle, and are humans in-/, on-/ or off-the-loop when it comes to decision making? Through the use of artificial intelligence based softwares that have access to big data, possible future scenarios are investigated.

One more virtual world that i participated of the building process 🌐 Together with the crew from @talesofus.initiative , @newkinco + @sonnigraphics and @hawkthemary to build the World of Us. This space is already being used for workshops, meetings and exhibitions. Tales of Us is a project that brings together people from multinationalities and works with tools of affectivity between people and symbols / tottems and storytelling. Always with a view to highlight diverse and emerging narratives. A great pleasure to be part of this project.

Such a pleasure to be back at @afrogamesbr after our Game jam experience last December.

AfroGames is the first centre for e-sport athletes in favelas in the world and is based in Vigario Geral in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.

Last year we had a great time diving into Brazilian mythologies with a group of 20+ kids. They fully developed two mini-games based on these myths that are still available through google play. This time we hosted a workshop on 3d asset building and story telling through objects. @tripla.chama, a multimedia artist and digital world builder, introduced programs such as thinkercad and Blender and introduced concepts of storytelling through objects.

The participants learned how to programme the objects and place them within our very first 'World of Us' immersive digital world prototype and share stories about what they created.

Check out the video and the highlights from this event!

Imagine waking up in the morning, "going" to work, socializing with friends, maybe even attending a music concert (because, why not when you can) — all without actually leaving our house. Everything we do in real life can be done in the metaverse (well, maybe not eating and sleeping).

The Metaverse is a three-dimensional digital universe in which we can get immersed and interact with virtual objects and avatars of other people.
