52. First real modeling attempt. Here’s the truth. I’m a wife. A mother to three. A daughter to a dad with Parkinson’s and dementia. I run a nonprofit @heatherswaynonprofit that’s put over $1.5M toward people rebuilding their lives after treatment. Every one of those roles asks me to give — not a little, a lot, and I do it because I choose to. This is different. This is the one thing I’m doing that isn’t for anyone else. Not my kids, not my husband, not my dad, not the mission. Just me, deciding at 52 that I still get to try something new and be scared doing it. I started to look into this with help from @next_chapter_collective_ and @adriennearieff I’ve noticed not everyone loves that. I don’t fully understand it, but I’ve stopped needing to. This isn’t a midlife crisis. It’s a woman who spends her life pouring into others, keeping one cup for herself. If that’s uncomfortable for you to watch, I get it.
