A HUGE thank you to @zanettaporetti for the coaching and showing up for the gang 🥰
.
Every year my life evolves which means comp prep has to evolve with it, lest it be left to settle at the bottom of the bog. This time around, I could not travel like I used to, and knew this was going to be a stretch with a training time budget of 2-3 times a week max. I just needed people to show up for me to maximize the effectiveness of my training.
.
I’ve been training Jiu Jitsu for 7.5 years. I’m a mom of three, a Type 1 diabetic, a coach, an athlete, and now I’m trying to build something of my own here in Harrisburg. As you can imagine, when you’re putting XP into several classes at once, leveling up takes a little longer. Come on spark ✨
.
I am traveling to cross train a lot less than I used to, because this is the direction my path has taken me for now. When it came time to prepare, I had to lean heavily on the room I’m building—and what happened made me incredibly proud.
.
My students showed up. They gave me rounds. They challenged me. They worked hard, adapted, learned, and helped me continue to grow as an athlete.
.
And a few people got in their cars and traveled to Harrisburg specifically to help me. Thank you @alliwmcer06 , @colingironda , @fancydragon_bjj
.
I will not forget that effort and support ❤️
.
The older I get, the less interested I am in what people say they value and the more interested I am in what they actually do.
.
So to my students and the people who traveled to help me prepare: THANK YOU!
.
I’m really fucking proud of what we’re building here. 🖤
.
Enjoy the slides, there is a lot of lore in there.👀
.
A special thank you to the @odenjiujitsu for always making space for me to train when I’m in town and a HUGE hug of gratitude to the women who traveled there to prep.

The @nexus_ajj gang got a little rowdy this year at No-Gi Pans, but what else could you possibly expect when you lock a group of absolute alphas in a house together for a weekend?

Today we sat down and watch some of the ADCC Wold Championship going on today and tomorrow and we asked questions about what we saw and broke it down.

S/O to friends who let you record and get goofy with you. @gracegerrish

Rashguard- @xmartial

Side note - knee bars scare the fck out of me. I like my knees and I'd like to keep it that way.

Seemed like a good idea at the time….

And I’ll probably do it again.

You can learn more from watching matches than you can from any Seminar or Instructional video imo.
