The Peril at Pincer Point

The Peril at Pincer Point е част от конкурсната програма на It’s Alive!

We’re thrilled to be longlisted for the Raindance Maverick award at @bifa_film this year, alongside so many fellow (and illustrious) filmmaker friends. Our timbers are shivered and are claws are crossed. That’s a promise.

We were completely sold on THE PERIL AT PINCER POINT from just a few minutes in, its very cool, very silly and so much fun! It's been playing every major festival around the world, winning awards and much praise and is the perfect start to a Sunday morning so under no circumstances be late and miss this movie!

On a quest to prove his competency, an inept sound recordist finds himself entangled in a nautical prophecy on the spectral island of Pincer Point. If that's not enough, it was filmed just down the road in Southwold... We love it - make sure you have a Sunday ticket!

Sound recordist Jim Baitte is sent to a remote island to capture a supposedly impossible sound. Instead, he finds ghostly legends, baffling locals and an ancient nautical prophecy.

Part adventure, part comedy, part ghost story, this lovingly handmade oddity brings vintage British genre cinema together with a very particular crustaceous sense of humour.

🏆 Winner of the NEON Auteur Award at SXSW 2026.

Why are crabs the size of dogs these days? And how exactly do such nautical beasts crew a frigate with such fines? All these questions and more will be answered at @greenwichfilmfestival's LIVE DIRECTORS COMMENTARY screening of THE PERIL AT PINCER POINT, occurring 7pm, 19/10/26 at @greenwichpicturehouses.

For those who've already seen the piece and yearn to know how the crab cake was baked, this be the screening for you. For those landlubbers watching for the first time, be warned — this screening will involve live shanties, yapping and hollering. If that sounds shipshape to you, TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW!
