Most designers focus on creative output, preferring to celebrate the end result, instead of championing how they got there. We believe in elevating the process by working in collaboration with
a diverse collection of freelancers, founders and teams.

During this webinar, Lily Peters and Sam Perkins from @niceandserious will share the thinking behind the @nabs_uk identity, a mental wellness charity for the advertising, media and marketing industry.

Donation tickets are available on Eventbrite and with all proceeds reinvested you will be supporting our mission to make creative insight and education accessible to all.

Last week, the short film I made with @serafimovaserafima, @katefrancesm and @matthewharmer (thanks to @niceandserious's Nice Works initiative) was screened at the iconic @ritzy_cinema as part of their short film showcase series, The Brixton Reel.

To see my own words on a big screen was a dream come true to say the very least.

Our film, Old Women, will be available to watch online in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I'm savouring the fact that I got to enjoy this unforgettable moment, with these amazing people, in this incredibly special place 🥹

Today is Better Business Day. And this year is particularly significant.

2026 marks 20 years since the UK Companies Act was introduced. Over the last two decades, Section 172, which outlines company directors’ duties, has remained unchanged.

Think about how much the world has changed since 2006. We’ve navigated a global financial crash, Brexit, a pandemic, a digital revolution, and the rise of ESG. Yet, the legal framework guiding corporate behaviour remains stuck in the past, still forcing directors to prioritise short-term profit above everything else.

From The Post Office to Thames Water, we’ve seen what happens when short-term incentives win. It’s time for an upgrade.

The Better Business Act campaign, now backed by over 3,000 organisations like Virgin, Iceland, and the Institute of Directors, is calling for a simple, powerful change: amend Section 172 of the Companies Act so businesses are legally required to balance people, planet, and profit.

This isn’t anti-business. It’s about economic resilience. Purpose-led business is good business. Just look at the UK’s 2,900+ Certified B Corps compared to ordinary SMEs:
📈 20% turnover growth, compared to 3% among ordinary SMEs
👥 11% employee growth, versus 2% among peers
💪 93% remained active after COVID-19, compared to 84% of UK businesses overall
💷 £1.5 million in growth funding secured on average, 18% higher than the national average

The data is clear: stakeholder-governed businesses don’t just work, they outperform.

Imagine the impact if all UK businesses acted this way. That’s the future @BetterBusinessAct coalition wants to unlock.

Let’s upgrade to Better Business now. Take action today.👇

Saying you’re a ‘values-driven’ business and actually operating as one are two very different things.

MD Alex King from @niceandserious uses a framework called the ‘moral compass’ to ensure every project and client aligns, not only with the agency’s core values, but with the values of the team too.

Such a smart and intentional way to shape culture and make more impactful business decisions.

Full episode is here:

How do your agency’s values influence the clients and projects you take on? We’d love to know 👇

Would you let your employees vote on which clients you take on?

Feel comfortable saying no to potential business that doesn’t align with your values?

Because that’s exactly how Alex King is building @niceandserious as Managing Director.

In episode 10 of Sister Sessions, we unpack Alex’s journey from client services to MD, how Nice and Serious uses its ‘Moral Compass’ to shape the work they take on, and the realities of maintaining B Corp standards in the creative industry.

The episode is live now on @spotify & @acast- perfect for your commute, post-work walk or whenever you need a little agency inspiration ✨

You’ve heard us shouting about the GreenSHOUTING guide – no pun intended – but don’t just take our word for it.

📝 Writing in @fastcompany , @1percentftp CEO Kate Williams called the guide “an antidote to greenhushing”. We’ve also been featured in @ecobusinesscom, @ellejapan @lbbonline and more.

One question we’ve been asked is how greenshouting might work across regions, dependent on local regulations and political appetite for organisational climate action. While businesses based in those regions are best-placed to decide how greenshouting might work for them, the bottom line is the same: honesty, credibility and transparency. It’s about progress, not perfection.

As @patagonia Corley Kenna said in our recent webinar: “We are a complicated and messy company – and we are the first ones to say that. But being open, honest and humble about where we’ve missed the mark is an important part of what makes us a little bit better.”

See what else has been said about the GreenSHOUTING guide above.
