The first record I ever bought on this episode of Random Record Reviews! It’s the year 2000 and I’m a 16 year old kid from rural Ontario in the big city of Toronto. After striking out at the iconic Sam The Record Man on Yonge St., right next door was HMV. I bought 2 records that day (see punk countdown no. 2) which included this orange pressing of Tiger Army’s debut record. Great album from front to back! T.A.N.D 🐅

Just in time for that Halloween show at @superradarcade, I’m starting a patch for @supersadatsuperrad 🖤 They’re a phenomenal cover band, and they’re taking on @afireinside for All Hallows Eve 2026. Fun fact: the last time I saw Davey Havoc in person, he popped out of the rumored-to-be-haunted wings at @thephoenixtheater. He joined @nick13 and @tigerarmy to sing backup on “True Romance” during a leg of the Punks vs. Psychos tour, some time in the very early oughts. It was cool to see the bromance, even then, between these two gorgeous creatures. Another fun fact: “Days of the Phoenix” was written as a tribute to the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, CA. This place remains one of the most beloved venues in my memories 🖤 I will probably be working on a tribute patch to that song, featuring the lyric “no one could see me”, next time I start a personal project.

Amazing vegan courgette/zucchini pasta last night, so tasty.

I used adsa macaroni, cathedral city vegan cheese and a little asda oat milk to blend easier.

Someday.

Yesterday morning, @kmcequestrian (where I take lessons) called to see if I was interested in entering the Free Spirit Saddle Club’s barrel race that night at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds in Superior, WI.

At first, I said no. I didn’t feel like I was ready. It was only my second time competing (my first time didn’t go well), I’d only been working on barrels during my lessons over the past few weeks, and I had plenty of other excuses. Then I thought about it for a second and decided, “Why the heck not?” I’m glad I did.

It wasn’t all about going there to post the fastest time. It was about challenging myself and gaining new experiences. With a time of 21.6, I was far from first, but I didn’t get disqualified by knocking over a barrel. I’m proud of the way I rode, and I’m looking forward to many more races.

Hey @nick13 remember me? See what you started!? If you look closely you’ll see one of your original 13 guitars hanging behind me. Thanks again 😉😻🏴‍☠️💙🦇
