Documinute From A Distance 15: “Nick, Kyoto Japan”

They say that friends are the family you choose. I chose @nickpollifrone to be a part of my family about 10 years ago. We met at a drama school when we all lived in London - I was washing dishes and working the till in the canteen and Nick was a student. We were on opposite sides of the service station. This was one of the few times in my life I've felt quite invisible, but not when Nick was around. One of the few people to actually ‘see’ me and pay a real interest in what I had to say, Nick very quickly cemented his place in our lives and was even the MC at our wedding 2 years ago. Making this Documinute was particularly difficult for me, actually, this has been the hardest one so far. If you have had a chance to read my article on Bored Panda last week, the parts where I talk about how hard this process has been at times, this Documinute is the perfect example of that. With people I don't know in person, it is tough to hear how hard the situation has been on them, but hearing it from a loved one and trying to remain professional at the same time is HARD.
This Documinute From A Distance was filmed on 1 April 2020.

PS: the footage of New York comes from a video Nick made of the time we spent in NYC together in 2014, when Andrew and I were there on holiday

"There are things you know, but when revealed to be known by others can make the world shine in a particular way." - @piercebrownofficial
Miriam's concept for sharing & telling stories was brought to life this weekend and received by sold out audiences begging for more. For this we are so honored

I am so proud of these people. I am so thankful for them. I am not sure I will ever have the right or enough words for them. I am overwhelmed, elated, missing them already, missing our show already, and certain more will come. Thank you my friends and talented castmates, writers, our back of house support squad, our 3 sold out nights of amazing audience members, Triskelion Arts, Brit and Malena Fisher and to all who have loved on me so hard during the ups and downs of months of being vulnerable in the name of art. Here is to all that inspires and informs our collaborations and making on this earth and beyond. @yourfaithfulreader

So much gratitude for all of the amazing talent in the room tonight and to @triskelionarts for having us as we find our way through and to opening. I am constantly humbled by the caliber of performers, writers and humans involved in making this thought turn into a living breathing piece of theater and movement and love. Thank you all from the very bottom of my little melty heart.

We can honestly say our "Your Faithful Reader" family spans the globe! Our very own Nick Pollifrone constantly and wonderfully contributes to the development of our show, it's art and production value from thousands of miles away while he educates children in Japan. Nick, a letter writer, a voice over artist, a graphic and web designer has been beyond an asset for our production. A true sounding board and support for all, his talent and love can be felt for miles and we are so lucky to have him! "Nick is an actor, writer, and designer based in Japan. A graduate of RADA & LAMDA, he now works alongside Yorgos Karamalegos as part of the Physical Labteam. In addition, Nick is the found of the platform and podcast, Typed Out. Special thanks to Miriam for this amazing opportunity." Come see @nickpollifrone 's contributions to YFR this October 10th, 11th and 12th! Tickets available in bio.
