We’re excited to have Brooklyn-based photographer Nicholas Bailey (@nicksaysgo) participate in Through Her Lens, an online benefit auction supporting KIOO NYC.

Bailey’s photography centers on everyday life, community, and the moments that often go unseen. Across projects including his solo exhibition Black Magic and publication Sights and Seens: Volume 1, love and community remain at the forefront of his practice.

Photographed on 35mm film during a Bed-Stuy block party, Double Dutch captures adults and longtime community members teaching a young child the tips and tricks of the game. It’s a warm portrait of a Brooklyn summer and the passing down of traditions from one generation to the next.

Through Her Lens is live October 1–15 on @artsy. 100% of proceeds support KIOO NYC, a new photography workshop for recently arrived immigrant students, using photography as a tool to foster dialogue, creative expression, and connection.

The 2026 BPDA Summer Conference was a gathering and proof that community is power. Public defenders, social workers, community advocates, and allies came together to learn, connect, celebrate, and recommit to the work. 🤝🏿
