There is a hidden, dangerous side to the beautiful Foxglove... 🌿✨
English below 🇬🇧👇

English translation: 🇬🇧

Foxgloves look like fairy bells but every part of Digitalis purpurea is toxic if eaten. That's how she saves all her nectar for the bumblebees only 🐝

My 3 rules for growing them safely:

1. wear gloves when cutting
2. keep away from curious paws & little hands
3. leave one spike to self-seed, you'll get free babies next spring!

Admire the freckles, don't taste them 😉

A tropical specialty for my buddy @nicksplants84 😃 Portlandia grandiflora ‘Rosea’ aka the pink Portlandia tree. In tropical South Florida it is everblooming and the flowers smell like chocolate! #junglegymfl #landscapedesigner #cottagegardenrealness #portlandiagrandiflora #floridagardening

#melittismelissophyllum is an easy to grow perennial for those damp shady corners of the #garden . The aromatic foliage is honey-scented and, along with the orchid-like pink and white flowers, attracts bees and butterflies to the garden. Flowers April to June. Height 45cm. Dappled shade. Hardy.
