Interrupting the Frieze week furore (!) to share this review of Danish artist @anna__munk’s recent show at @nicolaiwallner featured in @artreview_magazine’s October issue ✨

Sadly the show is over, but you can have a read through my bio about the series, coloured by the hues of Chanel’s Ombres eyeshadows and imbued with actual cosmetics.

Through these delicate renditions of still life paintings, Munk draws some intriguing connections between the makeup and fine art industries, and their shared penchant for commodification.

Listen to a new episode of the CHART Talks podcast with
@lagrahn and #MariaSvonni 🎧

As part of the CHART 2026 Talks Programme we were delighted to present a conversation between the South Sámi artist Carola Grahn and Maria Svonni, Founder and Artistic Director of @verddekonst and Director of @luleabiennalen.

Together, they discuss Grahn’s artistic practice, which spans large-scale installations, sculpture, writing, and performance, often exploring Sámi identity, collective memory, and our relationship with nature.

Starting with Grahn’s work Drick Drick, presented by @gallerinicolaiwallner at #CHART2026, the conversation explores how her installations invite audiences to become active participants in the work.

They also explore Grahn’s collaborations with Sámi duojárat, the relationship between traditional craft and contemporary art and her plans for a new work inspired by the Sámi bear ceremony for @luleabiennalen.

Jeg drømmer om at dele min kunst med endnu flere. Er der mon et galleri, der har lyst til at udstille mine mosaikværker? Jeg vil elske at høre fra dig 💛

Move through Nervetråde and encounter Julie Falk’s works ‘E.E. purple, E.E. green’ and ‘Free’ throughout Den Frie’s upper galleries.

‘E.E. purple, E.E. green’ continues the artist’s practice of reusing long cardboard pipes left outside to be shaped by weather and time. Rather than imposing a surface onto the works, the surface emerges through the conditions in which they are placed. Resembling decayed infrastructure, the works point to the structures that shape our world and their fragility.

The purple and green colours derive from shotgun shells found washed ashore on Samsø, where they remain as debris from hunting and military exercises. Echoing the pipes in their cylindrical forms, the emptied shells are material traces of the activities that produced them, artefacts of the present.

‘Nervetråde’ is on view until 01.11.26.
