“Creativity is not a talent; it is a way of operating.”

In our preschool art activities, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and discover. Every brushstroke, color choice, and creative idea begins with a simple question: What if?

Art is not about creating something perfect; it is about playing, trying, making mistakes, and learning through the process. When children are given the freedom to experiment, they develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and imagination.

Because creativity grows when children are free to wonder, explore, and play. 🎨✨

Art Teachers You Should Know! I love learning from this amazing online community! Thank you to all of these amazing art educators for not only inspiring your students but also inspiring all of us. For so many of us, we are the only art teachers in the building, and we don’t always get the chance to talk with other people that get us. It's so good to connect with fellow art teachers that live their lives with permanent paint under their nails, can troubleshoot kiln settings, know the difference between oil and chalk pastels, and understand the joy and chaos that is fingerpainting with kindergarten on a Friday after indoor recess.

You are doing good work in the world, and we are all grateful for you. ❤️🌈🎨

Trying to get my mindset ready for back to school! We still have a few weeks of summer break left, but I know I need to start mentally preparing for next year and start creating lesson plans and getting my classroom ready.

How do you mentally and physically prepare for the start of the school year?

P.S. Bought this little wooden "Create" sign at Target a few years ago and it always makes me happy! 💜

I did it! My classroom is ready for students on Monday!!! Check out my reel from yesterday to see what a dumpsterfire my classroom was just 24 hours ago. I stayed LATE last night, but I get to go home for the weekend and relax before kids come next week. Whoo-hoo!!!
