Today I turn a year older — and maybe a lifetime wiser. In March, I followed a whisper in my chest and moved to San Diego. Just me and Matilda, a car full of memories, and a mind full of unknowns. I left behind a version of myself that felt safe, and in doing so, met the one I was always meant to become. I’ve missed people more than I thought I could. I’ve cried quietly in between milestones. I’ve built something from the ground up — a brand new Culinary Dropout in Del Mar — and somehow, along the way, I rebuilt myself too. This past year has been the most honest of my life. It’s shown me who I am when things fall apart, and who I can be when I choose to rise anyway. Matilda’s still curled up by my side, reminding me to rest. The ocean’s close, reminding me to keep moving. This birthday isn’t just about getting older — it’s about becoming someone I’m finally proud of. Here’s to the family and friends who’ve help carry me from miles away, to the new ones who feel like old souls, and to every version of me that got me here. Here’s to the year that asked everything of me — and gave even more in return.

It’s Happy Dance Thursday in our world and while we celebrate that we earned a paycheck today, we also share gratitude in our chats. The coolest thing? While there was gratitude for family, health, and the paycheck that covered an expense, many were giving thanks for our community of partners. Many were thankful for the women that helped them get started in their wellness journey, for believing in them when they had no belief of their own, for helping them stay accountable to their goals, for talking them off the ledge when it got hard and for empowering them to do something different. It’s not about resolutions, it’s about creating healthy habits. It’s not about perfection, it’s about collecting consistency points.
