⭐️ Meet Steffon!!! ⭐️

We are SO incredibly excited to introduce Steffon Carter who will be walking the runway in SHOW YOUR SHINE 2027!!!!!!!!

Steffon is 8 years old, in 3rd grade, lives in CT, AND loves soccer!! We were introduced to Steffon by his incredible prosthetist @ale.woodru and he has been family since the minute we met.

When Steffon was 4 years old, he developed serious complications from sickle cell anemia. A severe infection led to sepsis and pneumococcal pneumonia, compromising blood flow to his extremities. In Dec 2023, Steffon underwent an amputation of his right leg. In 2024 he faced additional amputations of his left leg, left hand and three fingers on his right hand.
For Steffon and his family, this was an incredibly traumatic and painful chapter of their lives. His mom shares that even now, looking back on all he has endured can be difficult.
Yet, when she looks at Steffon today, she realizes the depth of WHO he is and what he is capable of… his RESILIENCE. Mom also says that one would never know all he has endured unless you saw his amputations… because Steffon is the happiest, most joyful and resilient boy.

Steffon has the best smile, he is loving, sweet, and pure JOY!!!! He is always ready for a GOOD TIME!
Steffons story reminds us that what we go through in life does not define who we are. It is the courage and unbeatable spirit we carry forward that TRULY makes us SHINE.

Steffon will steal your heart the minute you meet him, so get ready NY, because he is coming for that RUNWAY on Feb 6th and we cannot wait!!!!!!!

⭐️ Steffon is sponsored by Blake, Cameron, and Remi Cohen @blake_cohen8 @_cameroncohen28 ⭐️

It all started in 2018 when our Executive Director Rob who had been traveling to Haiti alone, volunteering with another NPO to help children affected by the massive earthquake of 2010. He realized the immense impact he alone was making and thought…. what if I brought a TEAM?!? How many more children could we help? What kind of impact could we make if there were more of US?!? In 2018, Rob founded the Limb Kind Foundation and brought his first ever team of 8, the “grateful eight” to Haiti! It was an amazing trip for all and the following year he went with an even larger team to @tebowcure in The Phillipines! To date we have completed 16 mission trips helping hundreds and hundreds of children regain their independence, and feel HOPE for the very first time. We are incredibly proud of our teams that have been along this amazing journey with us, and excited to keep doing what we do best! Saturday our team will be departing JFK to head to Sri Lanka.
This will be our 4th trip to @cfh.lk i Sri Lanka.
This will be our 17th mission trip since 2018.
