I’ve been to my first Urban Sketchers symposium, and it was fabulous! I spent a full week sketching in beautiful Poznan, meeting sketchers from all over the world and attending workshops with sketching heroes (that previously existed only online, but actually really exist in the real world and are lovely people!). I’ve even made some new sketchy friends!
A big thank you to @urbansketchers for making this happen! And a big thanks to the instructors who spent so much energy on helping us with our sketching (my instructors were @ritasabler , @marugodas and @om_lapom and attended a demo with @sharisketcher !). And a very big thank you to all the volunteers!
I also want to thank @tegnerforbundet for the grant they gave me so I could have this experience and be inspired like this!
I wish you all a happy weekend!

Me “stealing” some inspiration from the artist outside Casa Milla on our first day of the @sketching.spain trip in Barcelona…
This is my “I just got an idea” face…. 😅 and then we did some very loose sketching and had such a blast so thank you Mr Artist on the street for inspiring us with your wonderful drawings 🥰

Post travel paint palette. Seems I hit the green pretty hard. What an amazing adventure we had. Sketching Spain with @tarias_sketchy_adventures @instanthela67 @nicolle.pratt and everyone else was a wonderful experience. A group of people I know I will see again one day. I came home super inspired to keep painting and creating. #TravelSketching #SketchingSpain #WatercolourArtist #UrbanSketching #EnPleinAir

What an incredible experience it was to visit Dali’s house and to learn so much more about him. A spectacularly interesting artist/individual… yes, questionable ethics/morals/humanity but fascinating nonetheless! Afterwards we drove 15 minutes to the enchanting town of Cadaqués explore and sketch. A fantastic final day of our trip ❤️

#hospitalsantpau (Barcelona) is such an incredible place - wow, just wow. I think we could have sketched there for months. To reduce the overwhelm, I showed my group how you could focus on drawing decorative details of the modernista hospital complex inside boxes drawn across the page. They did such a wonderful job and we had a little “throwdown” after our time was up… we were then whisked away to a rooftop party to celebrate Sant Jordi Day!

Sometimes you don’t need to draw alot to capture the magic and the memory of the moment.
This Sketching Spain trip was absolutely magical and the sketches I made will remind me of every tiny moment spent with such wonderful people who will be friends for life ❤️
Ps, when you’re next in Barcelona make sure to stop in at @eltrosdelarambla - exquisite food and wonderful owner 👌
