It was 10 years ago today: @NicoMuhly and @teiturlassen’s album ‘Confessions’ was released on Nonesuch. The lyrics—inspired by or culled from video and commentary the pair found on YouTube—are simple, matter-of-fact, fragmentary, funny, and strange, yet they attain a dignity paired with the music composed and arranged for @Holland.Baroque, which performs it on the album. “Brilliantly witty, strangely compelling ... subtly affecting.” —Gramophone Design by @BenTousley #NicoMuhly #Teitur #Confessions #HollandBaroque

Here at Saint Thomas Choir School, our choristers learn from the best! Composer Nico Muhly visited our seventh- and eighth-grade musical studies classes to talk about his career, offer feedback on the boys’ composition projects, and take a closer look at the music together. Thank you, @nicomuhly for sharing your time and creativity with our young musicians!

[FUNDRAISING CALL] I am absolutely delighted to share this fundraising call with you for my upcoming album project, my most personal adventure yet. In November 2026, I will be recording the complete cycle of the 12 John Bull In nomines, a first on harpsichord as a set. I have also commissioned new works on the same theme written for me by @nicomuhly and @casheldaylewis . This unique project, over a decade in the making, will not only comprise a recording, but also a documentary by filmmaker Erwan Ricordeau exploring my relationship with historical performance in today’s world and the publication of my critical edition of the Bull pieces. I am as always working with a fantastic team, and am backed by Artalinna & @pylascar as well as additional funding from the Bixler Foundation and the Benson Center at @cubouldermusic . But a multi-disciplinary tripartite project like this demands tremendous resources. Through @clavecinsociety , you can support this project today and help us achieve this dream 💜 Contribute now 👇🏻 LINK IN BIO 🎥 Erwan Ricordeau

Recording Producer: @adamabeshouse @doronschachter @weitheproducer Engineering and mastering: @professorsilas Editing: @doronschachter @delosproductions @outheremusic What a journey it has been! 76 composers, across generations, cultures, religions, and backgrounds, each brought a bold, distinctive voice to one shared project. Together, we created a portrait of America that none of us could have created alone. To have five hours of new music written for me, to live with the responsibility of bringing it to life, every day, for more than six years, has been both an extraordinary privilege and a life-changing challenge. I am deeply grateful for the friendships and bonds I have formed with the 76 composers. Please take a listen: 76 new variations on “America the Beautiful,” so many ways of hearing this country we share. I hope you’ll find it time well spent. ❤️. 5CDs /5 hours of new music for America 🇺🇸 “Some are prayers, some are protests, some are dreams or confessions“ Min Kwon (The Guardian) Samuel Adler Bruce Adolphe Leila Adu-Gilmore Timo Andres Andrew Bambridge Jonathan Berger Victoria Bond Peter Boyer Kenji Bunch Theo Chandler Anthony Cheung Charles Coleman Stewart Copeland Viet Cuong Sebastian Currier Richard Danielpour Tyson Gholston Davis Justin Dello Joio Donnacha Dennehy Jed Distler Avner Dorman Reena Esmail Alan Fletcher Michael Gandolfi Michael Gilbertson John Harbison Stephen Hartke Jake Heggie Fred Hersch Jonathan Bailey Holland Huang Ruo Vijay Iyer Pierre Jalbert Kristjan Järvi Gabriel Jenks JP Jofre Aaron Jay Kernis Texu Kim Jiyoung Ko Libby Larsen George Lewis Lei Liang David Serkin Ludwig Miya Masaoka Jessica Meyer Patricio Molina Paul Moravec Nico Muhly John Musto Qasim Naqvi Daniel Newman-Lessler Scott Ordway Paola Prestini Dave Ragland Shulamit Ran Gity Razaz Gyan Riley Terry Riley Daniel Bernard Roumain Greg Sandow David Sanford Paul Schoenfeld Jeff Scott Juri Seo Robert Sirota Derrick Skye Augusta Read Thomas Christopher Trapani Liliya Ugay Melinda Wagner Wang Jie Trevor Weston Pamela Z Judith Lang Zaimont Patrick Zimmerli Samuel Zyman
