LAST DAYS TO ENROLL! Social Media for Photographers with Sherri Littlefield (@nienass)

The Griffin Museum and Sherri Nienass Littlefield (@nienass) are pleased to offer this two-session introductory program for photographers seeking to begin using social media in support of their creative practice.

Designed specifically for beginners, this course explores and defines what social media is, was, and can be, as well as the implications of its use within the field of photography. In this beginner-friendly course, both emerging and experienced artists with little or no prior social media experience are invited to explore outreach strategies through their photography. Students will examine social media tools, platforms, and applications while developing a greater understanding of online engagement and visibility.

Through hands-on activities and discussions, students will explore current and desired audiences, trends, influencer collaborations, and more, helping them build a stronger foundation for navigating online communication and marketing.

Students are expected to have a smartphone available during the workshop, as portions of the course will involve live exploration and hands-on activities.

Yayoi Kusama 1929 - 2026

In the middle of grad school, I realized my calling was art dealing and curatorial work. I love creating, but an internship solidified my future career interests. While on an interview in 2012 in Phoenix, the search committee brought me to a museum where I first saw Yayoi Kusama’s work. This was my first time seeing one of her infinity rooms, and it was mind-blowing. 6 years later I’d waited outside Zwirner for hours to see her latest show, and today I woke up to the sad news of her passing.

Kusama was troubled, but persevered and continued to inspire and innovate through her many outlets of creativity. Yayoi Kusama did so much for our field, for women, for those struggling in any physical or mental capacity. May her legacy live on. ✨🔴⚪️
