🇮🇳 🌏 It was a privilege to participate in the Meeting of Heads of Intellectual Property Offices (HIPO) under India’s BRICS 2026 Chairship, hosted by the Office of the Office of The Controller General Of Patents, Designs And Trade Marks (O/o CGPDTM), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, at AICTE New Delhi. Being part of this important IP dialogue provided an opportunity to engage with global intellectual property leaders, policymakers and ecosystem stakeholders and gain perspectives on how different countries are strengthening their IP systems to support innovation, creativity and economic growth. What particularly stood out was the larger conversation around “Connecting the Dots between IP and Culture”, and how intellectual property can contribute not only to commercial innovation, but also to the preservation, promotion and advancement of cultural heritage, creativity and traditional knowledge. For me, this engagement strongly reinforces the philosophy behind my recent book, IP to IPO: Decolonizing Academic Startup Revolution – Building Innovation Ecosystems for Viksit Bharat 2047, Knowledge to Innovation to IP to Startups to Enterprises to National Growth. India's ambition to become a knowledge and innovation-led economy will require us to move beyond merely creating IP to building systems that protect it, transfer it, commercialise it and create societal impact from it. Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important global IP dialogue during India’s BRICS 2026 Chairship. The future of innovation is not just about creating knowledge, it is about connecting knowledge with IP, enterprise, culture and national development. #iptoipobook #iptoipoawards #brics2026 #Innovation #TechnologyTransfer

🇮🇳 INDIA BUILDS #010 No engineering college. No sophisticated R&D lab. Just a problem that needed solving — and the determination to build. From Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir, Mohd. Shafi Ahanger built a powered walnut-peeling machine capable of processing 500–600 kg of walnuts an hour, with a reported 98% peeling efficiency. A grassroots innovation built around a real problem faced by people in his community. In 2023, his innovation received the State Award for Jammu & Kashmir at the National Innovation Foundation’s 11th National Biennial Grassroots Innovation Awards. Innovation can come from anywhere. Builders can come from anywhere. 🇮🇳 India is proud of builders like Mohd. Shafi Ahanger. You build. India should know. Know someone building something remarkable? Nominate them to be featured on INDIA BUILDS. #IndiaBuilds #IndianInnovation #GrassrootsInnovation #JammuAndKashmir Kashmir MadeInIndia AgriInnovation Innovation NIFIndia
