POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I failed in every new thing I tried. But then I never gave up.

I persevered, even when I wanted to surrender to my failure and walk away. The easiest way is always the most tempting, isn’t it?

But something in me said - just give it one more try.

That’s when I learned…

Every setback is just a background story for a comeback.

In my skirmishes with something called LIFE only my resilience stayed with me.

That is my success story. And I am sure that’s your story too.

Hi, I am Nila, a beta reader and book editor along with being a Pinterest and Showit VA.

Sometimes the biggest step is simply believing in yourself.

That was my biggest challenge too. Trusting myself.

Failures came my way more than successes. But I persevered.

And yes, there were the imposter syndrome, the insecurities. And the fears. Omg so many fears.

“Am I doing the right thing?”

That’s when someone told me
When doubt creeps in, keep faith that your potential is limitless.

I can do it. And so I went ahead and did it

And you can too!!

Past two years have been filled with turmoils.

And the only things that stood steadfast by my side were my family and the belief that I had in myself.

This moved mountains. And gave me the strength to glue the broken parts of me to become whole.

If I can do it, so can you.

Keep believing in yourself.

LOVE, MOM by Iliana Xander
4.75 stars

✨MacKenzie's mother, a bestselling author died suddenly. Was it an accident

✨ On her memorial, Mackenzie gets pages from her mother's diary which starts with

💫Want to know a secret?💫

✨ MacKenzie starts investigating

✨ One of the best thriller books I've read in more than 2 years.

✨ The book started with pages of a diary, and I thought - oh yeah, I know where this is going

✨ But the twist that came in the mid-book blew my mind completely.

✨ It turned the story turned upside down and inside out.

✨ My heart started racing, and I literally got goosebumps. What an OMG moment.

✨ This was one book where all ends were neatly tied with a pretty bow.

➡️ At $0.99 this is a steal and a must read. Else Get it from KU

✨ WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? You have to read this.

#qotd - Which book had the best twist for you?
And How have you been? How is Insta treating you?

FIRST LIE WINS by Ashley Elston

✨A book that was gifted to me since I was hankering for it since last December

✨Evie Porter played the long con game and went wherever her boss Mr Smith assigned until she twisted one rule and the boss showed his play

✨The story had a few twists early on, which made it exciting. I liked the brains and vulnerability on our girl. Her kind heart in protecting some innocents had me rooting for her

✨Set in dual timelines, I liked how the author connected the flashbacks with the present. Just wanted a bit more suspense. The book didn't manage to completely capture me.

✨The last twist left me hanging dry as it was so unexpected. The other tiny ones made this literary journey delicious.

✨#qotd✨ Something that made you smile in the last few days?

✨My niece. On the off chance, I shared one of my dilemma with her, and she gave me clear advice. My tiny tot is more logical than I am. Had to grin sheepishly at that

YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS when I started bookstagram⤵️

➡️ I was told my pictures were unaesthetic

➡️ I was told my feed was ugly and awkward

➡️ I was told I would have to pay money to get people to like my posts

➡️ I was thrown out of book groups for not having good pics

THEN I DID THIS

➡️ I researched about instagram and read a lot

➡️ I made my own theme and tinkered with it until I got the effect I was happy with

➡️ I started adding pics that made me happy rather than what others told me to

➡️ I added my own format that I was proud of

➡️ Numbers are important, but I no longer focus on them

➡️ I did things my way and chose my own happiness

➡️ What about you? How did you start your bookstagram journey? Did you face any hurdles or criticisms?

✨ There Should Have Been Eight
by Nalini Singh

✨A slow-burn thriller, with the locked room murder mystery trope

✨8 people became best friends as teens and were a close enmeshed group until they lost Bea to suicide.

✨Darcie, her sister, was the only one who was allowed to pay her homage and cremate her far, far away from home. None of the other six got to say their goodbyes.

✨Years later, they were now having a reunion in Darcie’s gothic family mansion to remember Bea.

✨When the storm arrived, people started dropping off as flies, until there was only Luna to get to the truth.

✨A lot of diverse characters, yet it didn’t feel organic. Slow paced but with a good build-up of atmosphere.

✨Nevertheless, the subplots kept a death-grip on me—pun intended—as the men died first followed by the girls, yet there was a fulcrum on which this book pivoted and lay spread its secrets.

✨Being a murder mystery, it allowed me to don the Detective hat and come to a conclusion. And I was ecstatic that I was partially right.

✨Quite a thrilling read

✨#qotd ✨Do you love playing the locked door mystery games on your phone?

✨Long back, I used to be addicted to them, got to get back to them someday
