Convincing you to read the strangeloom trilogy - playlist edition 🎧🎵

It’s week five here at @nilecorplegal and despite leaving as early as possible I still keep getting caught in the parking lot traffic 🙄

Honestly thinking about sleeping in my car at this point to keep my space!

At least I have a banging playlist to keep me company in the queue 🚗🚙🚗🚙🚗🚙

I’ve not yet read Deadlock, so this is purely based on the vibes I remember from Coldwire and my hopes for the rest of the series 🤭

From Kieren and Lia’s relationship vibes to anthems for Eirale and Nik, I really do think my playlist has something for everyone… even the indisposed 👀

I also had to sneak in It’s Ok I’m Ok because @thechloegong books always leave my head spinning and trying to convince myself I’m fine after all the emotional trauma 💀

And if that’s not enough, here’s the blurb! Deadlock is out next month 🤩🤩🤩

I looove making playlists for books that have really strong atmospheres and vibes. The perfect playlist for the perfect book makes for the perfect reading session, and the StrangeLoom trilogy by @thechloegong is a series that is perfect for playlist creation 🙂‍↕️ (and moodboards!!)

Chloe’s writing makes it unbelievably easy to be transported to the virtual reality of upcountry, a world of blue and pink neon lights, futuristic high-tech, and spies and anarchists running wild. I love listening to songs with techno elements and grungey vibes to show that divide between upcountry and downcountry and highlight the dystopian aspect of it all!

This playlist is my go-to while commuting to NileCorp, finding parking in the impossibly large yet impossibly packed parking lot at NileCorp, walking to my office at @nilecorplegal, and while reading Deadlock! ⚡️

Deadlock is the second book in the StrangeLoom trilogy and it comes out on November 17, 2026! You’ve still got time to read (or re-read!) Coldwire before it comes out ;D

What do you do when the NileCorp company parking lot has too few space and and the company has too many employees (probably some of them spies that don’t deserve parking spots)? You jam to an iconic playlist in your car as you circle and circle before giving up and paying for street parking and praying your car doesn’t get broken into.
.
Introducing, my DEADLOCK playlist. To listen to while you read DEADLOCK by Chloe Gong, out November 17, 2026!
Appreciate my top 3 songs for the book as well as song I think fit each character. (Somebody please tell me you understand my humor)

WEEK 5 - PARKING LOT TRAFFIC

working at NileCorp has been a DREAM…but unfortunately has come with one nightmare: the parking lot. every single day I swear I will go to bed earlier, get up earlier, and leave earlier to get to work earlier and beat the rush to get a good parking spot at the company…but alas I am a tired girlie and that never happens.

that’s when my Strangeloom trilogy playlist comes in handy!! if I’m gonna be stuck in parking lot traffic for who knows how long every morning, might as well have a good playlist with the vibes of our favorite handbooks to motivate me for the day of work ahead🩷

also……..PREORDER DEADLOCK!! LESS THAN ONE MONTH!!💙💛

Let's be honest, once I love a book I will that story and those characters in every song I listen to...
While I don't listen to music with lyrics while reading, making playlists for my favorites after the fact is one lf my favorite things to do! It really brings the experience to life; it's no different with the Strangeloom trilogy. These characters are some of my favorites, so I cannot wait to finally be back with them in Deadlock soon (only a few weeks left)!!

We’ve all been there before…getting to work just a liiiiiiittle too late and you can’t find a parking spot. You start panicking because you’re already in a hurry. That 42 oz. iced coffee you just guzzled on the way here starts kicking in and you’re simultaneously on high alert while needing a toilet ASAP…

Relax. Turn on this Deadlock playlist. Nod your head to the music. Need that extra jolt of energy (probably not to be honest…) to help you find that parking spot? These tunes will pump you up and get you ready to take on anything. Just make sure you get to the toilet first after you park…

You were so obsessed with Coldwire when you read it and are just clawing to get more of that feel?? Look no further... these are some books (and one TV show) that you should try out! Some of these are quite close to Coldwire, and some just give similar vibes and feelings, but regardless you should try all of them!!

NileCorp legal is really cracking down now that we are getting even closer to the release of Deadlock... start counting down the days!

Been thinking about which TV show or movie reminded me of Coldwire the most, and I remembered this amazing, bonkers (in the best way) show that used to air in the 2015-2020 ish era 😭 DC's Legends of Tomorrow had amazing found family vibes and romances and adventures, and if you swipe, you can see specific dialogues I thought apply to Coldwire, wink wink

((Have you watched this show? Click on the poll!!))
