It’s not news that you exist… Where is the story?

Yesterday, at the African Women In Tech IWD 2026 Nigeria Edition, our Strategic Marketing & Communications Manager, Toluwanimi Onakoya, took the stage to deliver a masterclass on the power of visibility.

While it is easy to focus purely on the product, Toluwanimi reminded the room of a harsh truth: building the best technology isn't enough if you remain invisible.

Watch the video to hear why we must celebrate our brilliance and supercharge ourselves for the journey ahead.

Go tell your stories. Make them look.

Startup stories don’t just revolve around funding rounds and product launches. Stories of failure, pivots, and expansion moves also deserve attention.

Toluwanimi Onakoya highlights the need to showcase how companies navigate challenges like regulation, competition, and market expansion.

For the media to tell well-rounded stories, they must hear directly from founders and startups. However, many hesitate to share their experiences, which can affect how their stories are told.

How can we encourage more openness and collaboration with the media? We explored this on our X Space, "balanced reporting in our tech ecosystem", and here's what Bemi Idowu and Toluwanimi Onakoya had to say.

Like I promised to give details in my next post. Here I am fulfilling my promise.

So @ynaija my former Team invited me over for my sendforth. I haven’t been with them for the past 2 months. I thought to myself what’s best way to show up, other than this energy.

To a team that allowed me be myself and learn at my own pace, I must show up with my energy and Love.

As I imagined the love from the entrance door, the other teams and my Geng Geng team YNaija was massive.

I am grateful for all this, it was a painful experience leaving but to think I am still missed brings joy. It shows that I was doing something right.

Swipe to see team members, not complete though. I used to be the only girl in the team but thanks to diversity and inclusion we are getting better.

Cheers to new beginnings, though I miss my former team.

It was nice seeing Harry too, the guy on white. One of my biggest hype man. Can’t seem to find his handle.
