Hey guys, it’s finally here.

If you’ve been following for a while, you’ll know I’ve been blabbing on about this for way too long. You asked us for more of Our Picks, so we’ve given it a proper home and a new name. Say hello to Aunty Approved.

It’s mainly a newsletter now. A monthly edit of our favourite South Asian brands, some homegrown, some from the diaspora, all making amazing products.

On here you’ll get a few of our selects. In the newsletter you get the full list, with more time spent on why we like each one. We’ve also managed to negotiate some special deals with a few of the brands, and those are in there too.

We’re not here to flog product that’s South Asian for the sake of it. These are pieces we really, really like, and we’ve spent a lot of time refining the edit.

Hopefully these few whet your appetite. If they do, jump on and be part of it.

Our first Young Leaders Retreat brought nine of India’s leading founders and entrepreneurs together for three days in Kochi.

The weekend moved from a sadhya on banana leaves and an evening at The Editor’s Table with Rahul Gangwani, Editor, Esquire India (@rahulgangs_), to a morning on Kerala’s backwaters and a full moon ritual on the Spa Lawn - closing with dinner at Zoka before a final, unhurried breakfast by the water.

New connections, candid conversations and a weekend built around nothing but good company and good pace.

Nine entrepreneurs walked into a hotel. Two days later, we had inside jokes, new friends and a very good reason to do it all again.

That was the first @esquireindia Young Leaders Retreat, an idea I loved bringing to life with @crowneplaza. Nine people from fashion, design, art, wellness. content creation and beyond, coming together over Kerala coastal food, sadhya lunches, a backwater boat ride, conversations at my Editor’s Table, and superb breath work sessions with @akshatrajan’s @akiko.rhythm ✨🤍

Thank you to this brilliant bunch for making the first one such a blast. And team @crowneplazakochi for the wonderful hospitality and experiences. Can’t wait for the next one!
