Last night was a perfect ending to this run of shows. I over sang and I’m under slept. And I feel great. Thank you to everyone who joined us over the past week in Kingston, Hamilton, Elora, London, and Montreal. Thank you Moira and Claire. Looking forward to a little rest. How do you stay centered when everything feels like it’s falling apart?

Maybe you don’t.

Maybe you carve time.
You make space.

Maybe it’s one breath
Right there, on your knees, in the overwhelm and wild grief.

You soften around what you cannot control.
You show up for what is here.
You breathe.
You listen.
You let yourself be changed by what is happening.

And maybe, somewhere in all of that, you remember that nothing matters.

And everything is sacred.

The small things.
The ordinary things.
The things you thought would last.
The things that didn’t.

The body.
The breath.
This moment.
This life, somehow still unfolding.

Maybe staying centered isn’t about holding yourself together.

Maybe it’s about softening enough to feel where you are.

You are not alone.

This is the second year my family and I have chosen to live in Montreal for part of our summer. We love it here. It’s actually the city where I met my wife. And the city where I wrote Clothes Off.
I can’t wait to come back and play a show in October!!! The 21st at @barleritzpdb
