#SUNdaySchool (U.N.I.A. Edition) ❤️🖤💚

One of our Ancient Monuments located in Africa (Egypt to Be Exact) is called the Sphinx (Paa Ruwty) and it is a sign or a symbol of the Lion Of Judah. In our culture we did not worship statues and animals so don't let people mislead and tell you that the grand architects participated in "idol worship ".

Dr. Bobby E. Wright, a prominent Black psychologist, educator, and political activist, argued that societal white supremacy inflicts severe mental destruction on Black individuals, which manifests as internalized racism and self-hatred. Rather than viewing these behaviors as inherent flaws or basic psychological conditions, Dr. Wright categorized them as direct consequences of a systematic process he termed "mentacide".

Mentacide: The Destruction of the Mind

Dr. Bobby E. Wright defined mentacide as the deliberate and systematic destruction of a group’s mind with the ultimate goal of destroying the group itself. Further
Dr. Wright argued that the ultimate antidote to engineered self-hatred is self-determination and an educational framework centered entirely on Black strength, history, and independent critical thinking.

Instead of treating self-hatred as an individual pathology, Dr. Wright's legacy forces a shift in focus to the external, societal structures designed to produce it!

LEARN MORE:
A child’s brain is not fully developed until around 25 years old, though different parts mature at different times:

• Early childhood (0–5 years): Massive brain development occurs—especially in language, emotion regulation, and sensory processing.

• Middle childhood (6–12 years): Cognitive skills like memory, attention, and logic improve steadily.

• Adolescence (13–19 years): The brain undergoes a second growth spurt. The limbic system (emotions and rewards) matures earlier, while the prefrontal cortex (decision-making, impulse control, planning) lags behind.

• Early adulthood (20–25 years): The prefrontal cortex finally finishes developing, which is why judgment, risk assessment, and self-regulation improve.

So while kids and teens can be very capable, their brains are still wiring up the most complex functions until their mid-20s.

During a virtual Doula services consultation, I was asked what is a birth doula and I told her basically, she becomes my Sister. I teach my Sister how to navigate the waters of Birth. I don’t let NOBODY play with my Sister at the hospital, and I help her stay centered in herself. #BirthDoula #BlackDoula
