What started out as a response to anger, despair and distress has now turned into something bigger than all of us.

Everyone, everywhere shared the anger, despair, sadness and together we came on the streets.
To reclaim public spaces. To take back the night. To reclaim sisterhood and discard patriarchy. In the process we found love, joy, sisterhood, strength and safe spaces.

What has started must not stop.

2nd October. 9 pm. We are going to walk for women.

Patriarchy Go back
Pitrasatta Bharat Chhodo.

I never thought I’d make a documentary. Somehow, the whole thing just unfolded serendipitously, and I’m incredibly grateful it did.

And honestly, I didn’t expect this simple, raw, citizen-made documentary to resonate quite the way it has...

Five screenings so far, including one at a school with more in the works - what’s stayed with me most are the conversations afterwards. Heartening to discover how aware and engaged people already are about Mumbai’s environmental issues!

Thank you @bujmedia2026 @3arthouse @atrangi.katta @greenmyna @aryagurukulschool for hosting a screening, and everyone who watched the film, asked questions, shared it, or simply stayed back for a conversation. ❤️

If you haven’t watched it yet, do check out - The Last Mangroves of Mumbai. And if you’d like to bring it to your community, you can host a screening using the guide in the Save Mumbai Mangroves Linktree in bio.

More conversations, please!
