Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca came out in 1938 and has inspired countless of writers and novels ever since. It is also one of my favourite novels of all time and an inspiration on my own work.

Have you read Rebecca, and if so, how much do you love it?

So many authors I know feel so awkward about the blurbing process. It’s hard to ask for things in general but when time has been commodified by the oligarchy and what moments remain are so precious, the fact that authors I deeply admire spent some of their time reading my debut to offer an endorsement of it is so moving to me. Each one of these initial blurbs had me fumbling over myself with a gratitude that feels impossible to express accurately. And also, I find myself once again consumed by the collective effervescence that comes from being a part of this writing community. I get why the blurb process feels awkward now. I do. But I also love the communal spirit behind it.

🍁September did NOT disappoint with some haunting Gothics, a slasher in time for Faire season, a ritual gone wrong, and a retelling that I can’t stop thinking about!!!!

🖤Day 2 of the @barnesandnoble preorder sale and I have thoughts on some books you may want to consider!!!! Did you know I have TWO books in the sale? TWO final girls!!! That’s like, half off one final girl using terrible math or horror rules.

🩷And if final girls aren’t your thing, there are other books out there. But don’t take my word for it. Wait… Do! Do take my word for it! That is the whole point of this!!!

💀Have I real allllllll of these? No. Obviously. Do I have great taste? Impeccable.

my favorite authors said the sweetest things about Hold Me Like a Grudge and i will forever be ugly crying over it 💕

in grudge, asher looks back through history at those who have come before him, those who paved the way and inspire him to keep going. these authors are that for me, each having written stories i hold tightly against my chest. what a dream that they have used their gorgeous words on my book too.

without access to queer stories growing up, @heyjasonjune ‘s books were among the first i ever found and fell in love with. what felt like a dream is now reality and jason june held my hand as i stepped through that door.

the wildly talented @stephaniearcherauthor is literally THE romance icon. i’ve learnt so much from her and how she champions all kinds of romance. when she blurbed grudge i audibly barked.

i cried holding Fake Dates and Mooncakes in my hands for the first time. With her proudly queer and singaporean books, @sherleeauthor is a trailblazer and is the reason i dare to dream.

@booksovrbros is everything i aspire to be—writer of the sweetest, spiciest romances and the kindest human who works tirelessly to build a safe community driven by love. he makes me want to be a better human each day.

@mason_deaver is literally my favorite human in the wild wild west that is publishing!! reading i wish you all the best was the first time i felt safe in own skin, and the rest of the Mason Literary Universe pops off just as hard. they are also a huge freak <3

If Tomorrow Doesn’t Come is the book i return to whenever existing feels too hard. @jenstjude ‘s books has tender compassion tucked into every page. i write from my heart only because they first filled it with hope.

@nitatyndall ‘s Who I Was With Her literally changed me. it was the first time i saw my queerness and grief reflected back at me. i genuinely do not think i would be writing romance novels now if nita’s words hadn’t made the grieving teen inside me feel seen.

where to even begin with lio min? i’ve built fucking friendships turned families around lio’s stories. i could recognize lio’s words in any universe and boy am i lucky to exist in the same one as lio.
