Join us in celebrating our awesome Gender Justice Organizer Yahaira's birthday! 🥳 Yahaira is an incredible part of our organizing team. Being a child of immigrants and a longtime SWOPista, she has consistently led a cohesive youth internship for many years and has continued to mentor several of our current senior interns. Yahaira has led many of SWOP's workshops and faciltated group gatherings for visitors and local community members alike. The verdict? We’re amped and ready to deepen our impact and strengthen collaboration with our allies in the fight for liberation. Your support and involvement are key in making this work possible, and we’re super excited to connect with communities across the region as SWOP moves into this next chapter! ❤️🌟✊🏽 Many thanks to the wonderful folks at @risolana.abq for allowing us to use your space!

Yesterday, I had the honor of receiving the Jeanne Guana Social Justice Spirit Award from SWOP and NM Con Mujeres Gender Justice. I am beyond grateful and blessed to see my work as a social worker and community organizer recognized in this way. This award is not just about me, it reflects the voices, struggles, and resilience of the community I serve every day. My journey has been rooted in service, and it has inspired me to take the next step: to use my voice and run for office. Representation matters, and I want to make sure our communities are not only heard but truly seen. Thank you to everyone who has walked this path with me, believed in me, and continues to fight alongside me. This is only the beginning.

Let this day and every day, continue to be reminders of much work, solidarity and changes needed to uplift Indigenous Peoples worldwide.Thank you again to @blackcatcoffeeandbooks in T or C,NM for the prior opportunity to paint this menu.I'd also, like to take the time to recognize the work of several organizations/small businesses here today to follow/support and learn from: @nmcmgj @puebloactionalliance @indianpueblo @marylandgoci @apacheskateboards1 @nmclimatejustice @jacobshije @lvicnv
