With it being a year since @vamp.eliza and I made this outfit I think it’s important to share my experience at the NM state fair. I originally planned on entering the VIVA MEXICO fit into the home arts competition until I got denied entry.

The day after entry I got a call stating that it was denied because the bad word on the back. And a man in the background inserting his input stating it was “too political”. I could’ve been more cautious about the wording considering it is a family friendly event. However, they do not display the back, where it was located. Thankfully, with the help of the amazing volunteers, they allowed me to enter the pants.

Day of the fair fashion show I show up excited, in the shirt they didn’t allow me to enter. I won first place for the pants. And my article of clothing was the only one poorly displayed. As I walked around the fair I noticed an art work by Alonzo Rodriguez of an ICE agent arresting the UNM mascot and a friend of Israel booth handing out flags. Which to me is political

They attempted to police and censor my art. Which is very upsetting. Fashion and art are political and there’s no avoiding that. I will be returning next year. And I will come with a powerful message again.

It’s tarantula mating season 🕷️💕🕷️🕸️
Here are some fun facts while I search the deserts of New Mexico at midnight looking for these cuties 🖤
Despite their intimidating appearance, tarantulas are generally shy, solitary predators that play an important role in their ecosystems by helping keep insect and other invertebrate populations in check🌵🕷️
(Wait until the end for the photoshoot 📸🖤)

🎡 Looking back on a great day at the @nmstatefair!

Last month, we hosted colleges, universities and community partners from across New Mexico for Pathways to College & Careers Day at the @NMStateFair, bringing higher education opportunities right to Main Street.

Students and families had the chance to learn more about tuition-free college through the Opportunity and Lottery scholarship, adult education programs, financial aid, career pathways, and programs available at colleges and universities across our state. 🎓

With students exploring their options, families asking questions, and our higher education community sharing the many ways New Mexicans can continue their education and build their future, it was a great reminder of just how many opportunities are available right here at home.

Thank you to all of our higher education and community partners who helped make the day possible, and to everyone who stopped by to learn, connect and explore what’s next.

We’re proud to help open doors for New Mexicans and connect students and families with the resources they need to reach higher. 💚

More than a crown.
A moment, just a small interaction, that hit me with realization. I was on my knees scrubbing my brother’s pig in the washrack at SNMSF when a young girl walked up and asked if I was the NM State Fair Queen. No crown on my head, no curls and wings, no eyelashes, and in a random moment. This moment made me realize it’s not the crown. It’s the connection.
Did I meet this young girl because of the crown? Yes, but the connection is what stays in our memories.
Over my years as the NMSF Queen I met so many people along the way; faces in the crowd, rodeo crews, event staff, rodeo families, and many more. Each making a last impression on me as much as I hoped I did on them. The young boy who carried flags next to me in Grants, the girls who waved me to the fence in Socorro, the Seirra county girls who soaked in every word I said, and many many more.
I won’t lie, telling that young girl I “was” the NMSF Queen stung a little, but her sweet smile that found me in the crowd for the rest of the week was a gentle reminder of my amazing year.
To the girls who wear a crown, always remember it’s more than a crown. A title and organization to represent, yes. However a crown is an open door to so much more. Your impact and connection with those around you are so much bigger than you realize.
Although I pass the crown down, I keep the connections, the memories and the people. This is not goodbye, it is a new path with new doors to open. This is a see you again soon!

The eyes are the window to the soul…

I heard this phrase many times but i never thought of it until tonight… to see, listen, feelings, then be able to do remarkable things as ths world transforms itself.

To know an individual you must look into their eyes so that you may know the meaning of life. The soul is the being that commects us to higher places. A soul is a precious part of nature that brings us the meaning of life.

Love. Protect. Be good. See yourself im someomes shoes and help others. Always be there for the ones who need you the most. Be alive. Never let your light die out… even now as the world is changing around us. Look at what is happening in the world we need to help the best we can before we loose ourselves. Hope is real, fighting for it takes action, and love always over powers evil.

Be there for our loved ones who are ill.

Protect our animals, plants & people for we are living beings.

Forgive yourself.

Protect the people close to you, and cherish them forever. 🎗️

Pray & fight.🎗️

Life is too short not to take action.

With love.

Goodbye summer, hello fall 👋🏻📿

Summer '26 definitely mirrored summer '16 vibe wise lol, iykyk! These last few months have been all about saying "yes" to new experiences, getting out of my routine, making plans, and giving myself permission to just have fun. I wanted this summer to be all about saying “yes, why not?”.

Yes to the invite.
Yes to trying something new.
Yes to exploring places I hadn’t been.
Yes to making memories just because I could and wanted to.

There were down sides too of course, nothing can ever be picture perfect, but saying "yes" to keeping a positive outlook on things is what got me through. I'm looking forward to keeping up this stride and continuing to say "yes" throughout fall and the rest of 2026!

Started off the first day of fall on the 22nd by saying yes to celebrating #nationalgirlsnight with friends, homemade dinner, bracelet making and swapping (I made the red one and received the yellow one), and indulging in #nationalicecreamconeday (made a sundae so I could put more toppings 😂)
